I just came across these on the bay and found one fairly in depth video review of them that basically says it's a custom painted LC blank...but for dirt cheap. the guy on youtube REALLY goes detail for detail on the KDS vs LC concludes they are most likely the same blank.  Anybody use these or have any more info on them? These things are cheaper than KVD 1.5s but LC blanks are under 2$ anyway and have some really nice custom jobs.

I have a few of them. The airbrush jobs are nice and seem to hold up quite well. I have one in a bluegill pattern and it's seen the water a lot. The hooks are small so I recommend upgrading them.

Just playing devil's advocate here.  I've got some custom paints that the guy swore were LC blanks.  I bought them for the paint jobs and I never really believed they were LC baits.  Where does one go about buying unpainted LC blanks?  Why would LC sell blanks at a very low price for someone else to paint and mark up?  Can any of these painters produce packaging or a receipt or any kind of proof that these blanks came from Lucky Craft?

Like I said, I've got a few of these baits and they catch fish.  I don't really care if they are LC or not and I will buy more without hesitation.  I've just never seen any proof that they are Lucky Craft.

Jrob, you can buy legit LC blanks a lot of places. It isnt uncommon.

The blanks the painters get are NOT LC. They usually and shouls say KO (knock off) in the description.  I have researched this and contacted them and it is imposible to buy real LC blanks.

I am sure the cheapo blanks work though.

I'm guessing they're pretty similar, if not the same shape. I'm sure Lucky Craft has different internals on theirs though which separate them. They look like pretty legit baits though.

The sites selling those lc 1.5 blanks are knockoffs?

My experience has also been that many places sell LC knock offs but nowhere sells REAL LC blanks. Here's a couple I did a month or so ago.

Lucky Craft is in the business of selling finished baits.  It just wouldn't make sense for them to sell unfinished blanks.  There are a lot of people out there claiming to have them though.

Nice inrll

Copies are not the same as originals. Internals are different. Thickness of plastic, rattle chambers etc.

Pre rapala Wiggle Warts and newer ones look the same, but perform differently. Yes they both catch fish but....

It wouldn't be Lucky Craft selling the blanks, it would be whoever they contract their manufacturing to. Most likely that company rips off the mold and sells the blanks on the side - a practice that is widespread in many countries that are recipients of outsourced labor.

Thanks guys.

I will say that the knock off 1.5's and 2.5's I've painted have had a nice action and seem to be pretty consistant. They don't have the same exact action as a LC though. I don't mean that in a bad or good way, its action is just different.
