The Hudd is a nice bait but there is nothing about it that excels over other hollowbody brands. The one and only I had was bitten off by a pike. I won't buy anymore. my $.02 Quote

I have different rods and reels from medium action spinning rods up to a heavy action 7'6" baitcasting rod I use for flippin and pitchin. What would you suggest ? Or how deep are your pockets? I wouldn't mind spending some money on a couple good quality lures as long as they will produce big bass. Prob would like to keep it under 30 bucks a lure. Quote

I always throw this out there, I'm not a hudd guy. I fish them but I dont like them. They work for a TON of guys and because I'm pretty sure you like to drag a jig this bait would suit your style. An even lower priced option for dragging (depending on how snaggy your bottom comp is) would be the River2Sea Bottom Walker. Quote

mnbassman23 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hudd 68 would be a great option. I am a big jig guy and actually enjoy fishing my 68. Mattlures U2 gill isn't a big bait, but would be another option. We have a lot of gills around here and I did well on the U2 last year. I'm really excited to fish the U2 this spring around the spawn. big poppa Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I personally love the grass minnow. I caught some decent fish on it. Nothing huge but it draws bites from just about anything. It makes the size and color of the hatch here perfectly. The do have a really so ROF so its not really a deep bait. Quote

The shads outfish regular hollowbellys by a wide margin in the heavily pressured lakes around here. Quote
