Super User K_Mac Posted February 5, 2014 Author Super User Posted February 5, 2014 Raul I could use some warmer weather, but your temps most of the time would have me looking for cooler weather! I need a nice temperate climate. Maybe Hawaii would work. I could not afford to get there though, let alone live there...I guess I will have just to stay here and complain from time to time. Good luck with those big girls as they begin to spawn. Quote

kadas Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Don't forget, Lake Wales is north of Frostproof, about an hour by horse & buggy. Oddly enough, we were fishing in Frostproof this Sunday (Reedy Lake). Seen the biggest alligator of my life off the Frostproof Firehouse. (also seen a doozy of an accident on U.S. 27 near the former site of Harley Davidson) Roger We were fishing crooked lake last week and I saw gator in there that got my attention!! he was stalking a couple of coots for lunch--they must have been on to him because i saw the coots later on no worse for the wear!!--i saw a pretty good sized one in your city park lake a couple of weeks ago Quote

You can get used to the heat, I did , actually is not THAT HOT year round, it only during a brief period of time when temps can get to 110´s , but the rest of the year the climate is mildly warm, we should say down here is not hot but it´s not cold, I could say the avg temp is in the 80´s. This past Sunday I was feeding a moorhen some bits of bread from my sandwich. They resemble coots but have an orange frontal plate and frequently swim within a rod-length of the boat. Five minutes later we spooked that big gator I alluded to, which sounded like a table dropped from a low-flying plane. I said to my wife, I'll bet that gator has a bellyfull of moorhens Roger Quote

F'n sad how they are driving folks and corporations out of the state. 1 Quote

Shutting down everything here. haven't had a fish on the line in 2 weeks. if it doesn't warm up soon i may go crazy. Quote
