primetime Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I have a $50 gift card that I plan on spending on Fishing Tackle, and I am looking to get out of my comfort zone and find some new & Fun Topwaters or Swimbaits(Hard or Soft) and I was planning on going with Tackle Warehouse since they seem to have the best selection of Lures overall. I Love fishing Topwaters and a Zara Spook is my favorite Topwater with a Yozuri Banana Boat & Sebile Splasher a Close 2nd and 3rd..For Soft Swimbaits I am in Love with the Gambler Ez Swimmers, Lake Fork Magic Swimmer, Money Minnows & Shadalicious.....I actually use a Cheap Knockoff Hard Segmented Swimbait that I like, and it seems to outproduce the Sebile Magic Swimmers and Strike King Segmented/Storm Swimbaits..Are the $20 + swimbaits and Jerkbaits really worth the money? I have a hard time believing that a $30 Megabass Jerkbait is that Much better than the Smithwick Rogues & even the Lucky Craft Series of Jerkbaits. I can rationalize $20 for a killer Topwater as I probably won't lose it, so if anyone has a killer topwater that is "Exotic and works great, I would love the tip". Anyone Recommend or try the new Live Target Bait Ball? Scatter Rap or Minnow? Megabass Parabug? Any suggestions as I am also getting into the Finesse soft baits as well and some of these new Japanese Soft Baits look awesome, but are they better on a drop shot than a Berkley Powerbait Twitch Shad,Kvd, or Zoom Finesse worm? Always looking for a new presentation and a new bait to try on the lake, especially with the Spring Bassin starting to hit full stride here in Florida. Thanks in Advance. Quote

Sound Like a Lure I want to try.....Is that a custom brand? I will google the bakers brand and I will order a Pumpkinseed which has always been a killer for plastics... Thanks Quote

Zoom trick worms catch fish. I have been checking out the XPod for a while now and I love the design and mouth for a topwater....I also have been looking into some of the Robo Worm Swimbaits and Dropshot Worms/finesse as those colors are awesome looking.....I already have a box full of Zoom worms in every style, I think it is hard to beat a Zoom Trick worm if you needed one worm for one day... primetime Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Why is it I want a Megabass parabug so badly???? Down for the Frog for sure...been checkin those out, River 2 sea has good prices for a Japanese Line of Lures. Quote
SudburyBasser Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 R2S is Japanese? I could have sworn they were California based. At any rate, if you like top waters why not the ye olde Rebel Pop-Rs? Cheap and they work just as well as any popper out there. I'd avoid the Live Target Bait Ball...outside of the jerkbait it seems a little gimmicky (I bought the popper and jerkbait in December and have regretted it since). Quote
