Banned-99884 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Looking for a new jig rod, i have narrowed it down to these lengths. Which would be best for 0-40 Feet of water 3/8-3/4 oz jigs. - 7'3 Heavy - 7'6 Med Heavy - 7'6 Heavy. thanks, Quote
shimmy Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Gonna depend on the brand name of the rods you are thinking about. Maybe more information could help since certain medium heavys would be perfect while other heavys would be better. Plus are you using thin or heavy wired hooks? Quote
Super User Teal Posted February 3, 2014 Super User Posted February 3, 2014 0 - 40 feet is a big difference. What depth or average depth will you be at the most. And are the any types of vegetation, or cover, Quote
Banned-99884 Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 mostly 15-25 feet and rocky bottom. Arizona lakes. I Will be looking at the *** blacks. looking at the 7'6 med heavy 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 4, 2014 Super User Posted February 4, 2014 I would use the mh for 0-20 feet, and the h for 20-40 feet. I like the extra backbone. You may not need it, but its there if you do. Quote
Zach P Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 personally I would use the 7'3 heavy for 0-20 and 7'6 heavy for anything deeper 1 Quote
