Anyone seen the new shimano Curado 200 I? just saw that on one of the main retailers sites and was wondering what everyone thought?

It sucks, I mean seriously I don't understand.  They just downgraded the Curado yet again.  I'm done with Shimano, this was the last straw.  I'm switching to xxxxx brand.  OUT!

Seriously though, it looks like a keeper but I haven't gotten to handle one yet so I can't say how it's going to be.

While there has been much discussion on this board, and every board on the planet, about the new Curado I - no one has reported any on-the-water experience with it yet.  For speculative discussion, if you access the advanced search feature, and search in thread titles for "Curado", you will find 6 or 7 threads since the first of the year, totaling several hundred posts and thousands of views....

Sounds like a nice reel though...

Doesn't work. I give her fifty bucks, and she lets me out.

Here you go:

First review - it looks much better than the previous green color.

I liked the green.... ;)

So do I, but the new color scheme matches rods better  :eyebrows:

Yeah I like the color better, if you are into things matching of course.

I purchased a shimano sahara fd when they went to a graphite (plastic) frame on the new one.more money for a plastic frame on the fe,why buy this when you can buy the pq for the same price or less.Shimano is getting less quality for more money.

Kind of confused what you're even talking about. The Curado has an aluminum frame and costs $179. If you're paying the same cost for a PQ, you got ripped off. You're getting a better, lighter reel with the Shimano. The PQ is ok, but it's a tank and it's not built with the same refinement. Also, graphite is not plastic. Graphite is what your rods are made out of, what they make airplanes out of, etc. The polyurethane resin used to bond the graphite, is a plastic. In the right implementation, it's lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than aluminum. I use the stuff everyday at work.

tgm, I don't think anyone can really talk like that about the curado until it has been tested.. Heck, It hasn't even been released yet. Lay off with the hate until we see whether it is an expensive curado G with x-ship and svs or if it is a refined masterpiece like the curado D/E. :drinking-42: Wait and hope.

When shimano releases a $99 curado you can come back and compare the two ok.

tgm that is probably the single worst post I have ever seen on this website. it was neither informative nor accurate, and it almost seemed angry. The BPS PQ is a good 100.00 dollar reel, but the curado is one of the most battle tested tournament quality reels ever made. I dont even own shimano casting reels, but I at least have respect for the top quality engineering and technology that was put into these reels. Also there are a lot of good sticks on here that you just called "fools", if you want people to take you serious and listen to your opinion I would suggest you not insult them... ok I am done...

It's at the very bottom on the front of the non handle side.

All of a sudden it's Sahara vs PQ spinning reel? Well I like Pepsi over Coke.

It would be RC cola vs coke heh

Posts have edited. Let's try and make our point without resorting to insults. Looks like we're done here.
