grubby85 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Looking to get me some falcon to tackle storage but can't find it, you go to look it up nobody has it, is it called something else and do you know where I can get it at Quote
guitarkid Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I don't know if falcon still makes the boxes, but plano makes pretty much anything you'll ever need. Here's a crank box which is over rated in my opinion. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-PLANOSTRG.html?from=basres -gk Quote
grubby85 Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 I was wanting something for hooks and lead but I don't think anybody make a good box for that, what would you suggest Quote
boostr Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Check out Cabelas online They have a Plano box set up just for hooks and sinkers. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Tackle-Storage/Tackle-Binders-Utility-Boxes%7C/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104620680/Plano174-Hook-and-Sinker-Organizer/1573827.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ftackle-binders-utility-boxes%2F_%2FN-1100380%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104620680%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104777280&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104777280%3Bcat104620680 Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted February 3, 2014 Super User Posted February 3, 2014 Falcon was bought out by Plano. They still make all the same boxes, they are just now called the Plano Elite organizers. If you are looking for boxes for terminal tackle, I'd suggest the Plano 3601 or 3701 depending on how much you've got. The elite terminal tackle box is good for beginners or if you carry limited terminal tackle, but in my case I found that I just carry too much for those to work well for me. I ended up getting two 3701's. One is for all my weights, and another is for my hooks. Also noteworthy, no matter what box you end up with unless it's one of the Flambeau boxes with the blue dividers, go ahead and buy the Flambeau Zerust rust inhibitors. They will help to save you from headaches and your paycheck from having to replace a bunch of unused hooks. I've already had that experience once, and that was enough for me. Quote
KDW96 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Theres no doubt falcon was a much better built product.Plano bought them out, changed the boxes from 4 latch to just 2, and used way cheaper plastic. The best out there is the red&black 3700 size, from BassMafia,at about 25.00. Very strong box,and waterproof.Alittle heavier, but worth it,and at TW. Another is plano 3700 waterproof(red gasket),with 3 big tight latches. The money we spend on quality terminal tackle, and jigs, justifies the expense. I also use silica containers from medication bottles to help. My jigs are stored in the 3700,and all terminal tackle in the bassmafia. I put both boxes underwater for 15 minutes, held down with a gallon of water. Neither box had a drop of moisture inside. Id say my stuffs all good 1 Quote

It is usually the spinnerbait box or the terminal tackle box tho. I hated Falcon selling the rites to Plano. They did nothing but screw it up! All the FTO's are different dimensions. Falcon's dimensions were all the same except the thickness. The bait coffin by BassMafia is awesome. I can get tons of baits in one box. Quote
