Chevydriver2123 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I have the shimano ci4+ brand new I heard a lot of people saying to flush the bears because they are packed with grease. I have never taken a reel apart before but I know I could do it. Should I try to flush the bearing or just leave it be. Thanks everyone Quote

Super User .RM. Posted January 31, 2014 Super User Posted January 31, 2014 If your Ci4+ is less than a season old.. I would use it for a complete season to let it brake in, then do a pro style brake down and service the reel... Good Luck & Tight Lines! Quote
OnthePotomac Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 When I received my new Chronarch I could tell that the bearings were over oiled. They are easy to remove, soak in lighter fluid for a few minutes, dry well and apply a tiny drop of a quality bearing oil before installing. There are two bearings under the cast control cap and one under the left cover. You will see a significant difference in free spool. You will find the antirust bearings for the spool to be excellent bearings. Quote
