Super User Catt Posted January 31, 2014 Super User Posted January 31, 2014 This is on a 5 arm rig What's Y'all's Spread? Ya keep em in a tight cluster? Ya fan em out as much as possible? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 31, 2014 Super User Posted January 31, 2014 I have several set up differently, but this has been my most productive: YUMbrella Weightless LFT Live Magic Shad, #3/0 Gamakatsu Light Wire Offset Worm Hooks Johson Silver Minnow on the middle arm Spread out Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 31, 2014 Author Super User Posted January 31, 2014 Yelp, got the YUMbrella! Huh, sneakie! Got rid of the jig head! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 31, 2014 Super User Posted January 31, 2014 Well, I'm a sissy. I still haven't completely recovered from a trip in August. On the first cast both me and my buddy hooked up as soon as The Rig hit the water. He's running the trolling motor so i put my stick in the rod holder. My striper was much bigger than his, but left unattended mine came loose. Rick's fish weighed 28 lbs. Quote
tbone1993 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 5 wire manns rig, spread out. Either reaction innovations skinny dippers or little dippers (depending on the bite) on the 4 outer spots and then a yum money minnow in the middle. The Middle and two bottom baits have hooks and the top are dummies. I also do the same with lft boot tail magic shads or the regular magic shads. All baits are rigged on the buckeye swimbait heads or owner screwlocks Quote
basshole8190 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 If the fish are more active i spread them out wide but fore more finicky fish or if theyre suspending i like the group tight Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 31, 2014 Super User Posted January 31, 2014 I use the Yumbrella, and I spread them out pretty far, almost at a right angle. I use 5" swimbaits on J-Will heads, so I want to keep them from fouling up on each other. Quote
BenB54 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Yumbrella flashmob jr with 1/8 j-will heads and 3.5" lft magic shad boot tail on the outside and a 4.5" in the center. I spread it out just enough where they don't get tangled up on each other. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted February 1, 2014 Super User Posted February 1, 2014 Usually a flash mob, or something of the sort. I tend to modify them by shortening the two upper wires by an inch or two. I leave the middle long. I tend to leave them fairly compact, rather than full spread. Generally I am throwing 1/4-3/8 ounce heads on one of a variety of swimbaits, with the center arm being 3/4-1" longer bait. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 1, 2014 Global Moderator Posted February 1, 2014 I fish a home made, very much like the flash mob. 1/4oz home made casting jig heads with 5" super flukes in albino. I like to spread them out fairly well but as long as they aren't tangling too much I don't worry about it being exact. Quote
