Hey, can anyone please tell me if you can use a 778c humminbird depth finder and run a ethernet cable to it to a 998c? If you can please put a link on where a can buy the cable for it.

I like how they put that proprietary end on it so you cant make your own. Looks nothing like a traditional ethernet cable RJ45 end.

 If your unit does not have HD in the model name, it is not Ethernet capable. 

 

If it does have HD, you need the AS EC QDE Ethernet adaptor for the mount and then an Ethernet cable long enough to connect the two units along the path you route the cable. 778c HD

 

If you have the 778c, the AS INTERLINK accessory is the only connection you can use to share GPS data.

If you have the correct unit, contact a marine electronics dealer for the purchase. They have better prices than the big box general sporting goods places like BPS and Cabelas.
