Is there a place that you can buy seconds from lure companys? Mainly talking about lures that the finish might a have a blemish in it? Surely not every lure comes out within specs.

You can buy plastics from *** called Dents and Dings. 1.39 for a 12 pack of various plastics. 2.78 for 36.

I dunno about stuff like crankbaits though.

I am sure that cranks are just repainted, most plastic companies probably just remelt, otherwise there is ebay, and company stores, I know that Berkeley has a big company store in Iowa and they have big lots of plastics, jigs and other stuff that are flawed.

Grey Wolf is 100% on this. Go used, classifieds or ebay. I find online forums and classifieds have been better than ebay as of late. Ebay still has some good deals, but you have to weed through and get lucky.

I have a friend who has an on-going garage sale of fishing lures and gear.  He gets them at sporting good shows, ebay, and all sorts of places.  He has had some strange looking baits that don't come in packaging.  Some are great some are not, but they are cheap.  I have picked up a lot of baits from garage sales and consignment stores; as well as when my fishing mentors clean out their tackle boxes.

Sometimes it's just a matter of being at the right place at the right time. When the local Target stores stopped selling fishing gear, I bought all of the Rapala and Storm cranks from three stores for $0.74 (Storm) and $1.24 (Rapala) each.

I also bought dozens of Strike King, Mann's, War Eagle, and Stanley spinnerbaits for $1 each, and a bunch of Rat-L-Traps for the same price.

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Keep your eyes open, and you'll find some good deals...but you have to get there before I do.  ;)

You can contact some of the soft plastics bait companies for off colored baits. They often have to adjust the colors when starting the production runs of specific colors. You can get a worm and dip it four or five times in Spike It Worm Dye and put it in a bag of off color baits and pour in some worm oil and let it set. Shake the bag up and mix it every once in a while. The Spike It will bleed off into the bag of worms and change the colors.
