X-Calibur ( I think that's how they spell it).  Big and heavy.  I can cast it a mile, or pitch it with ease.  Did I mention that it flat out catches?

My favorite Square bill by far is the old Rogers Big Jim.  The last three years I have caught hundreds of bass off them .

post-50560-0-76534400-1437182738_thumb.jYo-Zuri 3DB in parrot. Great action, you can burn it, sharp hooks, it's durable, and most of all, it slays. Also, storm arashis rock.

XCalibur is my favorite, but I'll fish all different types of Squarebills. I have KVD's, XPS, XCS, Arashi's, Matzuo's, Bandit's. There is not a bait I won't try. Next on my short list are the LC Skeet Reese, Yamamoto 100, and the Lucky Strike RC baits. Any other recommendations I should try?

I mainly use bomber model A and fat A cranks.

The bomber square bills but there's a shallow A that runs like the square bills do. These bombers are in the original nutin fancy colors.

I like the SK KVD's in all three sizes most of the time. I also use the SK series 1 and 4s in some situations, they seem to come throught wood better than the KVD's and they also rattle, so when the water gets murked up with an alge bloom here I often go to those. I agree with everyone on the stock hooks, as hooks get changed on all of them to the Mustad Elite KVD 1x strong, 2x short, triple grips, I don't find I need to tune them any more or less than  any other brands, some need it out of the box, some don't, some need it after a while , some don't.

Yes, I am quoting myself LOL. Add the Storm Arashi to my list of favorites since I posted this. While I still use the SK KVD's a lot, the series 1 and 4s have gone bye bye in favor of the rattling Arashi, and I like the silent ones too. Plus...no need to change the hooks on these out of the package like the KVD's. While I prefer the Mustad KVD elite 1x strong, 2x short triple grips on my SK baits, the short shank 1x VMC's that come on the Arashi's are very good, and only get replaced if/when needed............then I use the KVD's on them.

My top 3 are

1 Bandit 100 caught hundreds of smallies on this bait and a lot of largemouth too Cheap and something about it triggers smallies like no other Crankbait I have tossed.

2 Bandit flat max great when the fish are off due to a front or in colder water

3 Xcal 200 moves a ton of water

Those three cover a wide range of conditions and I have a lot of confidence in all three. It is cool to see as a front moves in the Xcal bites drop off and the bandits really start to crush them.

On the river though nothing can touch the 100 in shallower stretches, and believe me I have tried all except for the pricier options due to too many snags and lost baits. I also have other SB I am trying to gain confidence in to work them into the rotation.
