Gene Eby Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Need some info on getting a replacement boat cover. I have a 1996 Stratos 268 and needless to say the original cover is long gone, so I'm looking for a replacement cover, searched on line at BassPro and the few that looked as though they might work had really poor reviews. Has anyone here purchased a cover from them or from anywhere else and if so what are your recommendations. Don't need one to travel with this is just to use when the boat is not being used, winter storage is inside but during the fishing season I keep it in the back yard and rain, leaves, sun, and the usual bird crap is what I need to protect it from. Thanks for any input. Gene Quote
tnriverluver Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Try contacting Stratos and see if the still offer covers for your boat. My 201 came with factory custom cover that also covered the outboard. It was totally weather proof and trailerable. Very very well made with thick heavy fabric and the inside was lined with a soft fabric to prevent any scratching. They were about $7-800 back in the 90's but worth every penny if you don't have a garage to park in. Quote
jhoffman Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I bought a really nice canvas cover on ebay Quote
jhoffman Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Youre gonna look at this price and think... no way, has to be junk. I am telling you, its every bit as nice as a factory cover. This one likely wont fit your boat, however I would order from this company again in a heartbeat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-Aluminum-Bass-Boat-Semi-Custom-Boat-Cover-Sale-/330643168584?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&hash=item4cfbde5d48 http://www.ebay.com/usr/canvas-company Quote
noway Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Check your local canvas shops and get a custom made cover. Here's a couple in your area. http://www.gtcanvasworks.com/index.php http://www.bluewatersail.net/ Quote
Backlash123 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I ordered a Prism cover from BoatCovers.com in November. Had the cover within 5 days, and it fits perfect. Great cover at half the price of the manufacturers cover. I'm very happy with it. Good luck. Quote

Been a long time since I had that boat and had forgotten the manufacturer name but that sounds really familiar. Quote
MikeinFresno Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Ive been very happy with my BP cover. It was in the $189 range for my 18.5 bass tracker. Very nice mid weight cover. Quote
soopd Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I have purchased 2 different ones from Walmart that had a 5 year warranty. They do not hold up at all. I will buy a $20 tarp the next time. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted February 5, 2014 Super User Posted February 5, 2014 I got one at the Cabelas KCK in the Bargain Cave that was better than the one that came with my boat for about $70. It is a trailerable cover, all I had to do was to cut the straps so that they fit my boat without too much flapping. Quote
