hoosierbass07 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I was at Gander Mountain this evening looking at their soft plastics. They had some that I never bought or used before - Trigger X. So I bought a pack of Buzz Tail 6 inch worms. On the package it said they were made in Taiwan. I don't hear or see too many people talk about Trigger X online. I was wondering - what's the general opinion on this company and their products? When I looked them up online I saw they were owned by the same company that owns Berkley and a bunch of other fishing companies. So, do they make good lures? I only paid around $4.50 or so for a bag. Not bad. From looking at them, they look nice and are a little different from my other soft plastics. So I'm looking forward to trying them. Quote
Champfishnva Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 if i buy trigger x i look for them at like fishing flea markets where u can get a pack for like 2 bucks, I have only used the flappin bug an from exp. i can say i like them.. But as other soft plastics of them, Cant really saY Quote
Dr. Watson Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I have a pack of their 10" worms that I got about a year ago and have yet to try. I've heard decent reviews from the Linder's...lol Quote
fishguy613 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Havent tried any yet either, ill try their grubs next fall for walleyes though. Flapping craw and aggression frog look good too. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 29, 2014 Global Moderator Posted January 29, 2014 I have some of the Flappin Bug. I really thought I'd like them but they're smaller, and thinner than I really like in a flipping bait and not very durable. Quote
ChrisAW Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I use a few of TriggerX baits myself. Their tubes, seven and ten inch worms, their new punching bait; the Goo Bug, their big lizard bait that I can't remember the name of right now.. quite a few. Mainly because I've had a different experience with their durability than Bluebasser, they were lasting quite a few fish per bait for me. I like them, and have quite a few bags in my possession of each that I like because I have found them going on clearance unfortunately, so they couod be hard to find for me in the future. Quote
Preytorien Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I've used their 10in hammer worm with some decent success, but not any more or less than a standard texas rigged worm. Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted January 29, 2014 Super User Posted January 29, 2014 I've always wanted to try The Big Moe ~ It's just a good name. A-Jay 1 Quote
Jay Ell Gee Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I really like the Slop Hopper swimbaits. More so than other swimbaits? Not really. However, they have some good action. Again, nothing I would go out of my way to get, but they have some subtle colors that work well around here. Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 29, 2014 Super User Posted January 29, 2014 Trigger x always looked a little gimicky to me .. never tried em Quote
ChrisAW Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Ahh yes and the slop hopper is another I have, in pearl and bluegill. Use them on swim jigs most often but a swimbait hook is always good as well. The Big Moe is the lizard type I was talking about, and is honestly the only lizard type baitI have ever caught anything on. It has some good action to it and can be worked very slow. Quote
Grantman83 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I had some packs of the flapping bug and Couldn't stand them. They are so wide that they don't go through cover very well and they weighed a ton. Seriously they must have been almost 3/4 each. Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Well, I don't care much if the worms are durable or not. All I care is if a bass will go after it when they don't want all the other worms I try. It if will get me that one extra bite or only bite of the day then they are good to me. But, who knows. I didn't have any luck with the Strike King worms I tried a few times last year. So these Trigger X worms may or may not work. I do look forward to trying them. Quote
Djman72 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Caught my biggest bass on a trigger X 10 inch hammerworm in dark purple last year (5 pd 9 oz). That being said I don't think they're anything out of the ordinary. I dont seem to notice too much variation from soft plastic brands aside from some rare instances (senko>> other stick baits). It's how you fish them thats key, and what the bass want of course. Quote
