basshole77 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Last summer I purchased the bombshell turtle as many lures catch me and not the fish so much but I do like to experiment and try new lures often. I nose hooked these on my drop shot setup as I was getting many hits on anything else during this span in the summer and every time I put these on I killed it! Has anyone else tried these on a drop shot or any other presentations for that matter? Quote
Slefler Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I used them last summer, I used the juvenile green color and I Texas rigged them. I only used them for maybe an hour and a half and I caught a catfish lol. After hearing about your success I might have to try them again this Spring. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Lol. I would never thought to use it on a Drop shot. Very cool. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 I've seen it pretty hyped up by some kayak guys, never tried myself. Only thing I could see it really working on is during spawn, but hey, I'd only know if I tried one! Perhaps someday I will. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted January 29, 2014 Super User Posted January 29, 2014 the idea is cool but i have enough plastics that i don't use so for now, i will not be getting any more lol Quote
CTGalloway21 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Bass normally do not feed on turtles do to the hard shells damaged their mouths. On saying that, I have a pack of Bombshell Crabs that are awesome. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 I have had my eye on these for a couple of years, but have been wary... I generally try to stay away from any lure/tackle displayed along with one of those infomercial TV screens... Guess I'll finally grab a couple packs. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Obviousle a bass will eat a turtle, but I am sure there are plenty of other things it would rather eat. I caught a pickeral one that obviously had a fairly large turtle in its stomach. 1 Quote
basshole77 Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 I guess not many have tried them ... the bass around me were sure eating them, maybe they thought they were something other than a turtle. I got them as a gift and sat on them for a year and tried them as a texas rig and didn't like the action but glad I tried as a drop shot. Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Very creative using them on a drop shot. Quote
