Congrats.  Could you send the fairy my way?  :teeth3:  I'd like to try an ***.

My UPS guy made a couple stops.  First a Ballistic 7'7" cranking rod on closeout from TW.  Not sure if I will take it out of the plastic.  I am not fond of rods with larger diameter blanks.  On the other hand, the Aetos 7' MHF isn't going anywhere.............until the ice thaws.  :teeth:

The C14+ has been getting some good press lately.  Ought to make you a fine combo.  I'm thinking something light for my Aetos.  Either a Purple Alphas, Fuego, Sol or Patriarch XT.  I'd even consider a Lews Tournament Pro, but my middle grandson has come to think of that as his reel.  :eyebrows:

The rod fairy MUST be busy... because she dropped off 2 St. Croix Rage rods at my house too... too bad one of them broke in the shipping process...  :cry4:

How would you compare the *** to the ***?  I have a couple ***'s and am very interested in the *** but the price delta is quite a bit and the ***'s are so good that it's tough to make the jump without some idea of what the extra $$ is buying me.

The *** is lighter and balances better. The foregrip is also more comfy. I have yet to fish with it since i live in the great white north and al gore lied to me

Dang New2 I had a ballistic 77M cranking rod for sale on here last spring and I couldnt give it away. I still. Have the thing.. don't even have a reel on it any more. Not a bad rod, just upgraded and didn't need it.

Wow, even lighter?  That's impressive.  Is the action the same, XF?

Yes and yes

Iirc the 2 *** 7'3 Mh that i own are rght around 5oz. The 7'1 Mh *** is closer to 4.3oz. I know .7oz isnt much but the *** truly feels lighter in my hand. I noticed that before i looked up the specs.
