PersicoTrotaVA Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Woodbridge VA here. Don't know many spots in the area, any help appreciated. There are a lot of streams and creeks, the Potomac river and a few other rivers around there to fish. Google Earth or Maps is a good tool to use to find places to fish. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Welcome, CB. I'm also in Woodbridge. Keep an eye on the Occoquan thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/133334-anyone-hit-the-occoquan-reservoir-lately/ Between Occoquan, Potomac and lots of smaller bodies of water, this is a pretty decent bass fishing area. Much depends on whether you have a boat, how far you want to travel, etc. Quote

I used to live by Fort Belvoir and would go on post frequently. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 4, 2014 Super User Posted August 4, 2014 Cool. I work on Belvoir. Between the piers and the banks, there's pretty good bass fishing right here. I don't have a boat either, but I rent from both Lake Ridge and Fountainhead. Trolling motors limit you somewhat, but there's still a lot of water to cover from those two parks and it can take years to learn. Burke also rents boats, but I never had much luck there. Pohick rents boats, but the hours are screwy and launching/recovering can be a challenge if the tide is out. For shore/bank fishing, there's the entire Potomac, many lakes and ponds and some of the Occoquan rez and river. If in the market to rent a boat a little farther out, I've also rented at Orange, Brittle and Anna and many, many times at Hunting Run. I'd be glad to pass on my experiences. Quote

Arlington-guy Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 New to this forum, live in Arlington and looking for some good spots in the area to fish. Please PM me with any recommendations, or if you would be up for going fishing. I literally have zero friends who fish so, definitely open to it. thanks Quote
bigfruits Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 hello! im in the centreville VA area. mostly fish from a kayak with a few other kayak owners. I own a trolling motor for jon rentals. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted September 9, 2015 Super User Posted September 9, 2015 Woodbridge here. I split my time mostly between jon boats (rented out of Lake Ridge and Fountainhead); and kayaking from (Bull Run, Belvoir, Pohick, Occoquan) with occasional road trips to Front Royal, Hampton Roads, etc. Next time I am headed to Fountainhead or Lake Ridge and I know in advance that my wife won't be along, I'll send a PM.
