JeziHogg Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Is on the Shimano Facebook page. *Even better news, its not Red and Black! Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 My income tax return will get here just in time 3 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Msrp yet? $179.99 is the word on the street. Quote
MichiganFishing1997 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 That's tempting.. If its better than the last one. Quote
JeziHogg Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 I bet is a downgraded Metanium ie. Heavier, no micro gears. Quote
Jon G Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I dont know if i will get it a guy at my local Dick's said once they get in the new curados they most likely will have the chronarchs anywhere from $100-160 if thats the case i dont think I can refuse that offer.... Quote
Super User tomustang Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Much nicer color Quote
Fastmover3 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 If you look closely it' looks line the new chronarch ci4. Turning the other way from curado to chronarch back again. Have to wait and see if the braking sys is the same or something else. Any pics of the other side Quote
curtis9 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Here are some more photos and info on the reel. http://www.*.com/Shimano-Curado-I-Reels-p/shimano-cui.htm&Click=7721 3 Quote
curtis9 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm hoping the 50s come out later similar to the E series. Quote
GaterB Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Anybody know when the current Chronarchs will go on sale? I'd love to snag a 50E or two Quote
bass1980 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I think during the bassmaster classic things will get interesting. Curado's will be available, TW usually has a sale, and hopefully Chronarch E's go on clearance. 4 more weeks! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Hm. Interesting. 200 sizes only...for now, at least. Not my cup o' tea, like smaller reels like the 50 size, or 100 Daiwa sizes. C'est la vie. No biggie. As said before "give it time", they may release other sizes. 1 Quote
GaterB Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I've been waiting for a while to try out a Shimano reel. They're pretty much the last major brand I have left to test out. Part of the enjoyment I've had while getting serious about bass fishing has been figuring out what brands/types of equipment I like. I'm looking forward to giving Shimano a fair test. Plus, a Chronarch E is going to look pretty sweet on my Duckett Quote
bootytrain Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 It should be the new JDM Scorpion equivalent, new spool design called S3D, 4 brake SVS, and a very recessed external brake dial. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Anyone know if the side plate will be attached like the E series CU/CH were? Quote
kschultz76 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Anyone know if the side plate will be attached like the E series CU/CH were? It's not attached on the Chronarch CI4+ so I would doubt it. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Anyone know if the side plate will be attached like the E series CU/CH were? Yes. The one I got to handle was attached. Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted January 28, 2014 Super User Posted January 28, 2014 Yes. The one I got to handle was attached. Thanks. That was a big reason I went with Shimano. I may give one of these a shot. Quote
kschultz76 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Yes. The one I got to handle was attached. That's awesome. I love my CI4+ but am a bit afraid to lose that little side plate. Fortunately it doesn't have to come off much. Quote
