I don't always carry concealed, but when I do I appendix carry a Glock 45 w/ RDS and light plus a spare magazine. I like the full grip/magazine capacity of the 17 and the shorter barrel of the 19. Sometimes I will opt to appendix carry a Glock 43 plus a spare magazine.

S&W Shield in 9mm... Why?  Because I can ?. Because it's our right to do so.  And so I can protect the ones I love.

Or is the WHY question more about why I carry what I carry?  If so, it's because it conceals we and shoots accurately.  It's my "get to a better gun" gun.

Not daily & I do not possess a CCL but sometimes I'll carry my Glock 26.

Daily carry is a S & W Shield at 4:30 with a spare extended mag (horizontal) at 10 o'clock, backup is my LCP 2 in my back left pocket with a spare mag in my jeans key pocket right above my CRKT blade. My go to town carry is my Glock 20 loaded with sixteen 180 XTP's with a spare mag at 8 o'clock and 4 spare mags in the truck console. My go to the mail box/dog outside is a Keltec P - 32. In the house my Glock 30 Gen 4 with extended mag is always and I mean always withing reach. My safety and anybody with me is my responsibility. I've had to discharge my daily carry to prevent injury or possibly death. The once every 5 years you could catch me unarmed is while renewing my carry license in the courthouse and that's maybe 15 minutes.

Serious question here. Why all the armament? Had a conversation with one of my customers today about exactly this. We were discussing ammo...or lack there of. My answer to him was, "If the ammo I have isn't enough, then I'm in way over my head"

I carry daily. During last years "peaceful protests" I carried a spare magazine for my M&P Shield. I've never thought I needed more than one pistol to protect myself and my family. My LCP is a summertime pistol when I wear shorts, not a backup pistol. With today's unrest, I'm thinking of switching my EDC pistol from  Shield to an XD. The single stack Shield is more comfortable to conceal than a double stack XD but the 5 additional rounds might be worth it.

"Why all the armament?" Because I have zero backup. In a real situation you'll shoot faster and miss more often than you realize, so more armament is better. Law enforcement has proven that they'll follow orders to stand aside while bad things take place. I'd tote my chest slung suppressed SBR 300 BLK daily if I wasn't concerned with MWAG calls from terrified Karens interrupting my activities.

Check out the shield plus. 10 or 13+1 and will work with existing shield holsters. There's a reason the XD is the number one failing pistol during firearm classes. https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/mp-shield-plus

I have carried what seams like every pistol under the sun and settled on the Shield 9.  For me the best is the one you are likely to have on you and the Shield is just more comfortable.  In my younger years I always had a couple mags but now It’s less Rambo and more defensive, knowing I may throw one wide.

.....Buy one you will want to carry and is comfortable

In the cold months I carry a Glock 19x because I can conceal it easier. Warmer months I carry a performance center M&P .380 with an extra magazine.

I carry a Kahr K9 9mm pretty much daily. It’s actually a Lady K model, which has a lighter recoil spring and is not rated for +P ammunition. At times when I want something a little lighter and smaller I carry a S&W Sigma .380.

Id love to carry my Star Firestar .45 ACP more, but it is heavy. But such a great shooter.

Being in Texas, I could open carry my Cimmaron Arms Model P in .45 Colt, but no lol. THAT is a real shooter. With Goex black power cartridges, I had 4 touching and one off the cluster by 0.375” at 25 yards.

Glock 43x

Its ok. Not very easy to conceal. I only carry it when I feel it’s necessary.

Just curious why it’s not easy to conceal?

I carry daily and have done so for over 40 years. I have a carry permit in both Alaska and VA. I carry a custom, full size 45 , 1911 Gold Match Kimber in stainless that weighs three pounds. When fishing I carry a Ruger SP 101 in 357 Mag (also stainless). You don't need a gun until you need it and when you do, you need it RIGHT NOW! ~Who ya gonna call?

The holster I’ve found that works somewhat is one that fits the small of your back. Side holsters bulge to much. Not crazy about sitting with a belly holster.

Never tried small of back. 3-4:00 own position is what I use to carry but now only like that for owb in colder weather.
I tried aiwb and it just works great for me. Even with a Glock 19. It bulges but not noticeable by others when looking straight into you. Aiwb never bothered me sitting down even 24 hour drives. I learned it’s best to leave your belt a little looser than when carrying in other positions

of course it took a few holsters to find one that worked for aiwb

As stated before my EDC is the sig p365 I appendix carry. I’m now getting the P320 in 45 for a duty gun so that will be my now EDC pretty much. I’ll have the two one for on the clock and one for when I’m not working. We have to supply our own firearm that meets requirements while a lot of guys there prefer Glocks and say get a glock I’m not a fan of glock there’s a local store that only sells to first responders and military and they have the 320 in .45 for $480 so I’m snagging that hopefully next week. Shoulda had it last week but stupid red tape with the store. They won’t accept the check from my employer made directly out to them for the gun. It’s gotta be money coming from me which it is just work gives a loan out for said duty gun we pay back minimum $10 each week. Work won’t give me a check to pay for it worries guys will not buy said gun with the money so they cut the check directly to the shops for the invoice of the gun. Worst case scenario I’ll just buy it myself this week and save that loan for something else from a different store since it’s a 1 time deal.

My CC Is a P320 .45 full size, I’m not a big guy but I am defiantly not a small guy in the same token.

As far as why, I am uncertain of the question but I will answer with two parts, I carry because I love the aspect of being able to protect myself and my loved ones, I celebrate my freedoms but also take them seriously, to many have sacrificed themselves for me and my family as American citizens to not take them seriously and exercise them vigorously, all of them, not just this one.

As for why I carry a full size .45, one reason is that my hands comfortably conform to a larger size firearm, smaller or compact models just get lost in my grip and I usually end up with slide bites, why the Sig is because it was a more natural sight alignment, it felt like an extension of my arm when I brought to up to fire that first round, I have done a lot of research when I looked around and the one thing that stood out to me was not how big of a hole it makes but it was a matter more so of penetration, the .45 is slower out of the gate (unless your using +P rounds etc...) in training there is a scenario in which you are taught to look through your target because the chances of your round leaving the intended target and hitting a second or possibly even a third is quite plausible with the speed some of these rounds leave the barrel.

With the .45 and with the Sig Elite Performance self defense round I feel more at ease knowing the chances of that round leaving my intended target are reduced greatly, not saying that they can’t or won’t, we all know how ballistic arguments go, it’s just a personal decision that I feel much more comfortable with.

carried a sig 938 for about 6 or 7 years both 4/5 oclock position and appendix with a spare mag in the pocket.

Recently switched to a CZ P07 with RMR and have been carrying it appendix only.

Believe it or not the CZ is more comfortable to carry than the smaller sig. With the sig being full metal but compact the weight always had a tendency to screw with the belt and pants and put unnecessary pressure on the pelvis. The P07 weighs a tad more but is spread across a larger area and just carries better and more comfortable. I also wanted something I could decock for safety and just draw and pull the trigger, no other thought or mechanics needed.

I carry for so many reasons. I've had 4 heart surgeries and an experimental device on top of other issues, I can physically fight and am fairly decent but no matter how much I train my stamina will never be more than a healthy person...pistol is to level that playing field. Aside from nut job people and protecting my wife/daughter/myself you never know around loose animals (domestic or wild). Was at a camp ground when a dog attacked a person and would not let go despite people having to resort to beating it with a wrench in the head.

I always carry...if I'm leaving the house even on my property it comes...if im in the house its either on me or nearby. How many videos and stories have you seen someone posing as a salesman or delivery driver and breaking in day or night.

Crazy world we live in, I dont want to hurt/shoot anyone but if you open that "door" you better be committed because there is no limit to the level and intensity of violence I'll bring to protect my family and myself.

I have several handguns in my home safe but I do not have a carry permit and have never really considered it.  I have nothing against it either.  But I feel like I might do something that I would regret at some point and sometimes people really tick me off in public too.  I have found that its just a better decision to walk away from a confrontation than deal with it, or worse, go looking for one.

Quite honestly, I'm way more worried about someone breaking in while I'm gone and stealing my firearms than I am about someone breaking in while I'm at home.  My firearms are some of my most valued items I own.

It hard to be accurate with a handgun.  Plus with the ammo availability issue right now, practicing regularly would be a major problem.

I have 3 carry guns but the one I've been carrying the most this Summer is a little lightweight 38 snubby that I can slip in a pocket holster in my shorts and barely notice it. I carry something anytime I go out.

My daily carry is a Sig p938. I like it because its small, light, easy to hide and has a manual safety.

I carry either a Glock 32 or a Sig P320 compact in .357 sig.   If I'm dressed in a manner these guns would be hard to conceal I carry a Sig P938.  (9mm)

I live in an area where it seems everyone is packing a gun.  We don't have much crime, but TV news has people so scared they feel like they need one.  I know little old ladies who bring a gun in their purse to church.  I like guns and have owned many of them over the years.  I have guns in my home and my wife and I know how to use them.  I don't want a gun in my car or on my person.  I don't because I would regret using it.   If I shoot someone, even if it's in self defense, I will spend the rest of my life in court or on my knees praying.   If I lived in a place where I had to carry a gun, I would move.

I’m still on the P365 for my everyday concealed carry choice. I’ve added another 320 in 9mm for a duty gun that I carry every day as well but that’s a open carry deal. I bought a holster to conceal IWB with it but I still grab my 365 over the full size 320. I tend to appendix carry so the full size 320 would be a bit more uncomfortable than the little 365.
