I have a lot of gear, way to much and i thought hey i will post a bunch of gear at a really good price where someone can go fishing.Nothing but good intentions.

So i post a few rod/reel combo's a few new crankbaits,Bass Pro tackle bag and tray, some reels...all told about $250 worth of good buys.Have a ton of email and a few text when this guy says i will buy it all.Want to start taking the kids out and this is a perfect way..im happy THIS guy is the kinda guy i did the ad for.We talk about price and since he is buying it all i knock $25 bucks off..

I load it all in the Suburban and go to meet the guy at a Fast food parking lot near the house.ANY deals i do are they, super busy always a ton of people around...I had told him what i was driving (my Burban is hard to miss) so i park and he comes over i open the barn doors and he is looking and mumbling..so i ask him if its okay ( now know this i had sent him a ton of clear pics)

he tells me sure its fine but he only brought $175.00 would that be okay..???

I had to bite my lip and be calm and remind him he and i had come to a price, his response was that $175.00 was all the wife would give him.I was sure you can buy a $175 dollars worth but your not getting all of it.He then got loud and i guess tried to scare me ..i dont know..I jusr reached over and slammed the doors shut and told him to well you know..so as im getting in the Burban he is still running his mouth..but i didnt allow myself to get ampped up..i did tell dont stand in front of the truck,to move out of the way......i drove around him and as i left he was still in the middle of the lot flipping me off and screaming and cursing..

Lesson Learned....................I HATE CRAIGSLIST SQUIRRELS.....I still have the stuff up if any locals want a good deal..lol

A low blow for what..? And pray tell why would i deserve it..? Im confused i was not being a jerk.

you guys are going to make inside jokes to insult me..? Have a pair and break it down for me.

It wasn't a a joke aimed at you. Raider is one off the most colorful members of this forum. You will find that out if you stick around long enough.

They're just busting Raider's chops.  You will get to know the guy after awhile, always has

and "interesting" story. My take is not putting myself in the situation. I don't do Craigs List

and don't do cash exchanges with strangers. I strongly recommend Pay Pal for safety and

protection.

If you read my post, my comment was directed at deaknh03, not you.

Raider is known for his "passionate" sometimes over the top actions.  My understanding of deaknh03's comments was that he was thinking you might have run across Raider when you met the individual who wanted to buy your stuff.  It was a jab at Raider, not you.

Stlbob,

This is a good bunch of guys here.  Regardless of what anyone says.  :respect-059:

You'll find that our jabs are good natured. Thick skin is mandatory for the new guys.

Sorry for your Craigslist sellers issues.  The only thing I've ever tried Craigslist for is for hiring people.  That didn't go all to well either..... Some of the applicants had no idea what they were talking about.

I find none of what he rambles about interesting...

Here in St.Louis CL is huge and to be honest this was the exception not the norm..i am on CL everyday and in fact the truck i drive, and more things than i can can count are from CL..

PayPal well  Paypal is VERY anti-gun and i will not support them.In fact i have walked away from more than a few deals because the person insisted on using PayPal..I would loose a deal than compromise what i consider one of the most important issues facing law abiding gun owners today, and that is compromising our right to keep and bear arms.Anything that is against firearms is against me.

Stlbob, nothing malicious aimed at you, or Raider for that matter. I like Raider, and enjoy his over the top stories. Nothing I or Rhino said was aimed at you, in a bad way, I assure you. Raider recently told a story about being chased from a chinese restaurant by the owner wielding a soup ladle, and your story brought him to mind.

Shoulda snatched the money and ran him over. Your time is valuable. How dare he waste it.

A Vietnamese man with a giant spoon is the scariest thing anyone can EVER come up against. I would rather come face to face with a .454 Magnum. I highly recommend hiring a couple as body guards.

This will get you started on Raider: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/129722-banished/

If you somehow managed to do another Craiglist deal like this, you ought take a Vietnamese man with a large spoon for protection... :eyebrows:

I seriously almost wet my pants when I read this. I snorted water out my nose and drenched the dog. Poor thing is sulking beside the chair now.

Bob, that was a close call.

What if he had pulled a knife or gun on you? Even in a parking lot.

I think he had $175 in mind all along and wanted to play on your feelings and not business sense.

You made the right decision to leave and not confront him.

How about posting your tackle in the Flea Market section of this Forum?

And I understood that the fun was being poked at Raider. He is a character and we are glad he is with us on the Forum.

Take care and Tight Lines

Reminds me of a friend that tried to sell a car like this.  Met up with the guy, I followed along to give him a ride home, they had already agreed on a price, he shows up with cash, whoops....$1,000 short.  My friend turned purple with rage.  He said no deal.  Out of nowhere, he happens to have the cash available.

Ended up selling him the car and be done with it.

Where is the honor in some people?

there is no honor among most anymore.

I was blessed and spent many years with people of honor and principals...my son and i trained there together for years.

What would i have done if he pulled anything out his pocket other than fingers..??? re-read my comments.I dont carry my Sig because it looks good on me(well even though it does still not the only reason) It would have been a very bad day for him, very.
