I'm looking to replace a 6'6" M Compre that USPS broke for me last year.  At least I had it insured, but it was a hassle getting them to pay up.  Anyways I've been looking at the Veritas.  Heard plenty about them and fished with one briefly last summer and was impressed with its sensitivity.  I'd like a 7' M action that I'd use mostly for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits but also the occasional lighter jig, t-rig.  What threw me off a bit is they only offer the 7' rod with a Med-Fast action (at least at TW).  For spinnerbaits and chatters that shouldn't be a problem although I've always thrown them on a Fast action, but I'm a little concerned how that med-fast action would affect a hookset with a jig or t-rig.  I think all my rods are fast-x fast.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?  Am I worried about nothing or would I be disappointed with a med-fast action given the versatility I want that rod to have.  Thanks guys

7ft mh mojo bass is awesome for spinnerbaits. I would go with a mh over a m for spinnerbaits a t rigs. Many people enjoy veritas rods, I prefer fenwick or st croix.  More Expensive I go to dobyns

Don't worry about it..........Abu M power rods are fairly stout. I have a similar rod, the 7' M Vendetta, that they also list as "moderate fast"...........nothing modrate about it, it's fast if not XF in action.

I agree with ww2farmer abu rods are definitely underrated and the action is more a traditional fast. they are great rods light and sensitive.

My opinion on the veritas... Don't do it. Goodness I have broken three of them the guides are garbage the only upside is the weight it is very light but please I love Abu Garcia and a dan of Ike. Who really tried to talk them up. I asked him a year ago how many he goes through in a year and it was one of those kinda questions he took rhetorical but wasn't meant to be haha. Personally for 20 dollars cheaper. I like the Vendetta better believe it or not. But check out Lamiglas rods great rods with a lifetime warranty sensitive, strong, and light.

I went to Dicks this past weekend to compare the Veritas to the Mojo(also 7' rods). 2 things stuck out, the Veritas was lighter and the guides on the Veritas were all bent up and uneven. It was nothing you couldn't fish with but I mean every one I checked out of like 10 they had the guides weren't aligned and it was very noticeable.

The Veritas for me felt hollow and light towards the grip end if that makes sense, where the mojo just felt sturdy more evenly up and down the rod.(I realize rods are hollow btw)

As a side note I checked out the new Lews speed stick with the micro guides and that rod felt sweet but Im not confident enough on the micros.

BTW, Im pretty much looking for the same rod you are at the same price point. I think there are still Veritas available in the used section of the site for about $75 shipped.

Im not sure where you are at in VA but the Winchester VA Gander Mtn has 20% off the the *** rods.

i have two of the 7' medium/mod-fast veritas casting rods. the first one i bought 3-4 years ago and it quickly became my favorite lipless crankbait rod, even over other rods i had costing 2-3 times more. it was light (4.1 ounces) and handled great and closer to 'fast' than 'moderate fast' i'd say. it could even cast my 07-size rapala shad raps decently. however, last year while fishing it with braid, my line got caught in the trolling motor and pulled my rod into the spinning prop, snapping off 3" of the tip. since i loved that rod so much, i bought another. however, the second one i got felt different from the first, i noticed it immediately...just not as 'crisp'. i plopped it on my scale and it was 0.3 ounces heavier but, more importantly, didn't have the same 'feel'. i will have to check to see if the spline alignments are different. pretty disappointed.

personally, i think it might be okay with chatterbaits and 1/4 to 3/8-ounce spinnerbaits but i wouldn't just that rod for t-rigs or jigs.

I don't have the casting model but I have a spinning veritas medium. With my veritas I pretty much ignore the ratings and throw whatever I want on it. It's not my best rod and it's not my favorite rod but if I could only take one rod with me white lightning would be the one.
