Anyone fishing that Channing Crowder tx?   I decided against it as the kotg is also there the next day and I'd rather do that. That place is in for a rough weekend...

All small fish Dave. The alley is where we will probably start.

I fished Sunday also. Launched right before Bocabasser. I hadn't been there since night owls in june. I couldn't catch crap. Fished hard till 3pm. Put about 7 fish in the boat, with only one being a keeper, maybe 13 inches. Definetly not fishing the tourney Fri. And will probably skip kotg as well. Would rather go to the lake and fish Burkes, been doing good on the lake lately. That place is going to be a mad house at weigh in. Good luck to you guys fishing it.

One of my clubs had their monthly tournament out there Sunday. We caught large numbers but only 10% were keepers and they were small at that. Our winners had 20 or so, next was 15, then 14 so there are fish to be caught. I'm doing the T on Friday but we will give it go at the KOTG on Sunday.

Wow!! Nice job to those anglers. Here I am wondering when the big girls are coming, and these guys just busted them up.

we had 16 pounds on friday for the crowder event, and had 15.5 yesterday for the king. my partner lost a monster first thing in the morning yesterday that was every bit of 8 pounds. on friday we couldnt get a big bite. had a blast and let me tell you that ron bergerons ranch is AMAZING! he has a saloon on his property that is as big as my house. it was a great weekend for holiday park. all of our fish came off of the flats.

I fished them flats until my trolling motor bought it.  Could get any big bites.  The few I did, they weren't committed and I missed.  Rough day....

Leo and I had 12 and a half at KOTG yesterday.  We knew we were at a disadvantage not going in the flats, but we were around some spawning fish and felt we could get a couple of them to bite.  Had three big bites and only got one in the boat (5lbs).  The two we missed were in the 5-6 pound range.

The big girls are ALWAYS available.  It just so happens right now most of them are way back in the swamp where most anglers can't/won't go em.  The guy who won it (Hank) has a boat with six batteries.  He plows back through stuff that 99% of the population wouldn't even think about going into.  It's a lot of work and he and his partner Skip have dedicated a lot of their time/effort toward perfecting their flats techniques.

I had no doubt that one of our King of The Glades anglers was going to win Crowder's tourney.  4 of the top 5 finishers were KOTG anglers.  I don't think any of the FLW pros finished in the top ten.

Nothing ventured nothing gained. Hats off to Skip going into the swamp. I have always been curious how these flats guys get in there.

You have to be committed to run your boat way back in there.  There is risk doing that.  I take my hat off to these guys doing the unthinkable and finding those hogs among all that stuff.  You definitely need lots of power to troll through most of it.  Were they in the flats way out west?  Great job guys! :respect-059:

1).Mile Marker 30 is the first ramp on the north side.

2). MM35 is the big ramp and rest area with both north side and south side ramps.  There are also ramps on the east side and west side of the Miami River.  The the east and west side of the river are seperate landlocked systems.

3). MM38.5 Is on the north side further west.  I find the water a little cleaner out here.

4).Then you have MM 41 south side.

5). If you go past the Gas station out west you will come to L 28 canal running north and south there is a new concrete ramp out there its on the north side just past the canal.

There are other ramps mixed into the Alley.  This gives you idea of all the possibilities.

Well, I am officially a member of the 30lb club.  Leo and I caught 30.22lbs in the King of the Glades qualifier yesterday at Holiday Park.

I've caught 30lb bags before, but never in a tournament.  We really needed this one too, as we had a poor showing last month and this was our last qualifier before going to Okeechobee next month (where we will be at a big disadvantage to the locals).  So this one feels pretty good right now.
