CPBassFishing Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I decided to brave the 15 degree weather on Saturday and went out for a few hours. Half the pond was frozen but I found a nice dropoff right near a creek inflow with some brush nearby. This guy decided to bite a green pumpkin chartreuse tail swim senko deadsticked and slowly twitched along the bottom. I was deadsticking the bait nearly half a minute at a time. Of course, I forgot to dig out the scale to weigh the fish but I'm guessing somewhere in the 2lb range. Sorry the pic is sideways. Thanks for looking! 3 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 25, 2014 Global Moderator Posted January 25, 2014 Really wish I could get out, but everything close by is frozen solid. Glad someone is getting out after them. 1 Quote

Super User geo g Posted January 26, 2014 Super User Posted January 26, 2014 Sunday 1/26/14, temp high 74*, water temp 66*, bright sunny day light wind. Went to the Alligator Alley in the heart of the Everglades. Water levels are still dropping concentrating bass from the glades into the deep canals. It was crazy with 11 to 13 inch bass. From 7:00 to 12:00 I conservatively caught 80 to 90 bass with most of them on the short side. I did have a couple of bigger fish in the 2.5 lb. range. It was a fun day with never a slow moment all morning. Almost all were caught on Senkos and wacky rigged black trick worms. Most fish were caught in 10 to 12 feet of water snapping the trick worm off the bottom and letting it float back down. They were hitting the bait from the drop-off to mid canal. We should have several months of this type action. Great to live in South Florida. Quote
