Haven't had luck with the 90, I use the 130 and 190 in monkey butt, blue blood, bone, and loon and perch in the 190. I don't use a 90, even though I have a couple, mainly because it seems to malfunction for me every other, maybe every third cast, and size wise, seems you might as well use a buzzbait. Quote
HardcoreBassin Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Wow. Talk about WINDY! I went out for about 4 hours on Sunday morning. It was EXTREMELY windy, so the spots I could fish were pretty limited. I got 1 bite all day, and it was from a musky, around 36 inches. It slammed a shad color squarebill about 4 feet from the boat. I fought it for about 20 seconds, then it cut the line with its teeth. It got my blood pumping though! Now I need to start reading up on musky fishing... 1 Quote

Due to a current car situation, I don't think I'll be able to tow the boat anywhere. Does anyone have suggestions for bank fishing or wading? Is Towhee choked up with weeds still? Haven't been to Towhee lately, so I can't say if the pads are still thick, my guess is yes, but if you do check it out, I usually fish down by the dam. You really need to put your time in order to have any chance of being successful on the Nock. I've managed to pull out a 7 lb 2 oz smallmouth bass last year, several 5 lb largemouths over the years, and a beautiful 4 lb smallmouth several weeks ago. I am blessed to have won one tournament there, and placed decently in several others. When you hook up at Nock, chances are it's gonna be a lunker! 2 Quote
anthony_awgul Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 Beltzville is a really fun lake to fish though, I personally think it's easier to fish than Nock. I've never been skunked at Beltzville yet, it seems something is always willing to bite! My buddy and I placed 3rd in a tournament there last year, it was probably the most enjoyable tournament I've fished last year. The fish are rarely the size of Nock's, but they'll fight hard. It can be fun to fish the lake's clear water, especially in spring when sight fishing. Lots of structure and I love fishing Beltzville's deep water! Most of all though, I love running my skeeter from one end of the lake to the other in seconds, unlike putting around Nockamixon with my ten horse and running 3 or 4 miles is a huge commitment. There aren't many places to run my bass boat around south east PA, so it's nice to take it out when I get a chance here or there. The lake's got huge pickerel too... But I don't think I've landed any bass larger than 3 pounds yet! Quote

The first spillway you are technically not allowed to fish. Never stopped anyone. I've taken my toon in a couple of times, mostly a carp and catfish hole, with the occasional good fish. The next hole, after the second spillway is the same way. 1 Quote

Got a really good look at the hump just to the right of the boat ramp @ Preachers Camp. I regretted putting the boat away early last year. Would have been great to explore more of the lake & chart structure normally not visible.
