backcast88 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I ordered my Stadic FJ 2500 and a Symetre 2500. I plan on using the last of my Sunline Sniper 8 lb for my Stradic. I do not have access to Sniper locally and don't really want to order any right now. I have used InvizX and didn't care for it. Lots of stretch and low abrasion resistence. I was thinknig of trying 8 lb. AbrazX on the Symetre. Anybody have any experience with AbrazX on a spinning reel? What about 8 lb Red Label on a spinning reel? Quote
jtesch Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I've never liked any Floro's on a spinning reel except the super premiums. Way to much memory and casting problems for me and the smaller the reel, the worse it gets. Quote
alexandboi Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I use 8lb abrazx on my symetre and haven't had any problems. The line is a bit stiffer than invisx, but is also more abrasion resistance. Quote
backcast88 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 I use KVD Line & Lure in all my fluoro's and haven't had any issues. I might go ahead and try the AbrazX and if it doesn't work I'll use it for leader material for Carolina rigs. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 20, 2014 Super User Posted January 20, 2014 I don't think you will like AbrazX or Red Label on spinning tackle. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 20, 2014 Super User Posted January 20, 2014 I fish around zebra mussels and spooled up a couple spinning reels with 8# AbrazX and don't like it. In all fairness I use the small 100 size reels and it may be more manageable on a bigger reel Quote
smallies24/7 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 No Red Label. I used it and it works great, but the memory after a few days is ridiculous. Go with Invisx for flouro, Sufix Seige for mono, and Yo-Zuri Hybrid for a hybrid line. Quote
backcast88 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 What do you all think about the new Trilene XL Pro Grade Fluoro? I see its designed for spinning reels. It looks like its worth a try. Quote
Preytorien Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I had Abrazx on a 100 size reel last year.....didn't take me long to realize my mistake. I am going to give it a shot on a 2500 Sahara this year, but I'm not crossing my fingers. In my experience, nothing can beat Power Pro Super 8 Slick on a spinning reel. No memory, bullet casting, it's a no brainer. I have 15lb test and use a 5ft flouro leader if need be. 1 Quote
michang5 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 x2 on the PP S8S. I have a size 25 reel with 20# braid and 10# fluoro leader. And a Stradic 1000fi with 10# braid and 6# fluoro leader. Happy with both setups. I recommend the hi-viz S8S. Quote
backcast88 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Not a braid fan at all. I picked up some Trilene XL Pro Grade Fluoro in 8 lb. My reels should be in Friday. I plan on hitting the lake Sunday so I hope to be able to try the new line. Quote
Dr. Watson Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra soft....that is all. Quote
