coots Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 A couple guides I've read and talked to on Lake G have been ripping BIG lips on the SPRO Aruku Shad and this MIssle D-bomb... but I've never in my life fished a beaver or creature type lure like the D-bomb. Do you use this thing to hook it on a jig? Texas rig it? If so, do you just pop it off the bottom like a texas rigged worm? Finesse style? Thanks in advance! Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted January 20, 2014 Super User Posted January 20, 2014 All of the above. I prefer to texas rig a beaver style bait but have used them on jigs on colder water. Quote
basshole8190 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 At times it can be an effective jig trailer but i prefer beavers to be t rigged and i pitch it or flip it cast it drag it shake it or dead stick it it all depends on what the fish want Quote
HookSetDon Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I like to use the dbombs texas rigged on a straight shank hook. Great bait for punching mats Quote
livetofish28 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 After talking with John Crews this weekend he Texas rigs them on a 5/0 gammy flipping hook with a tungsten weight and flips with them Tight lines Andrew Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted January 20, 2014 Super User Posted January 20, 2014 Love the D-bombs, t-rigged fished in heavy cover or on punch rigs. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted January 23, 2014 Super User Posted January 23, 2014 I prefer to T-rig my creature baits and use them mostly for pitching and flipping applications. My go to presentation with them is to just hop them. If you head over to the Missle baits webpage, they have videos of all their baits where John Crews talks about them and then they show the actions of them under water. http://missilebaits.com/index.php/d-bomb.html Hopefully that will help you out. Super User Felix77 Posted January 23, 2014 Super User Posted January 23, 2014 I prefer them on a T-Rigged Flipping Setup like described above. I also love them on a Jig. Caught my first Jig bass with a 1/2 jig and a D-Bomb (Bruiser Flash I believe - their black/blue color) 1 Quote
BenB54 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I prefer them on a T-Rigged Flipping Setup like described above. I also love them on a Jig. x2 can't go wrong with bruiser flash and candy grass. 1 Quote
coots Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Any of you guys ever tossed this thing or something like it on those Owner JigRig's? Seems like an interesting technique... Quote
deputybc Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Believe it or not I have had great success put these on a shakey head. When the fish hit them them just crush them. Quote
Bassfishing375 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I rig the D-bomb on a 5/0 gammy flippin hook. I never used them on a shakey head but it sounds like it would be great especially with the baby d-bomb. Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted January 26, 2014 Super User Posted January 26, 2014 I prefer 4/0 for dbomb Quote
