moretolife Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I am heading from NC to Okeechobee the last week of the month. Wanted to know how has the past polar vortex affected fishing? Is it postponing the spawn or creating tough fishing conditions? Has it been too windy to be out on the lake? We are staying at Buckhead Ridge so will likely fish the north east side of the lake. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. My boat is a Triton TR20 so if you are out there from the 26th through the 1st of Feb. look for me, I'd like to meet you. Chris Quote

Chris Moretolife---> check the local forums under the southeast bass section, under Florida bass, January edition. Lots of those guys fish it all the time. It sure IS cold down here in central Fl. and will be cold most of next week. Good luck with that. My particular honey hole has flat lined for now. Tight Lines. Quote

Super User geo g Posted February 1, 2014 Super User Posted February 1, 2014 Stayed in Buckhead Ridge in the canal homes 10 years ago. Conditions were cold and windy. We stayed off the lake a couple days because of weather and fished the rim canal. Caught some nice fish in there around the lock. We also trailered to Harney Pond Canal and fished the canal, and Fish Eating Creek. Find sheltered areas anywhere you can. Quote
