People would still buy the Ci4+ because it's that good. It's light and casts light lures very well. Hopefully Shimano doesn't neglect the $150 price point, otherwise they're missing an important demographic.

All of this speculation was exciting but now it's just getting annoying hahah

Would you rather them charge $430 for a all carbon composite reel NOT made in Japan like some other company is doing? lol

At the rate the speculated price is rising it will pass that by the time it debuts.

If Daiwa can come out with a great(by all indication so far) tatula at 150 with new tech tws air rotation  shimano could bring out the new curado with its somewhat newer tech x ship- braking system.

I suppose they could but they're in the business of making money.  I'm not sure what the B series originally cost but Curado's haven't been $150 reels in at least 10 years, maybe longer.  Things don't normally go down in price, especially after they have been improved upon.  Most people don't want a cheaper, watered down Curado. The Citica has always been a quality reel at the sub $150 price point.

I love how everyone's own 'source' knows what's real. Keep the speculations comming!

I'm extremely up to date on product releases and, in particular, Shimano reels.  This one is so tight, I'd be extremely surprised if there are more than a handful of people on this forum that actually have current info on it.  Like I said, when I initially posted here, the proto I handled is nothing close to the release version.  As to what that release is, I haven't the faintest, even MY guys have been tight lipped about it and I usually have new reels in hand a solid five months before most.

Why not just discontinue the chronarch e series and introduce the curado there. Seems weird to have both chronarch and chronarch ci4....

Exactly what I was thinking.

That's a very nice looking reel... First I have seen I knew the partial spec. Sheet but do not not if it's aluminum framed or ci4+ ? I bet aluminum !

Enlarged photo... Pretty sure it's metal star drag is back , also brake side is swollen substantial for the new braking system . Well just a guess but I think our E series reels may have just devalued ... Just a bit!

Except our 300e's
