Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 7, 2014 Super User Posted February 7, 2014 Trust me, I'm better with my Zebco than I am with photobuket Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 7, 2014 Author Global Moderator Posted February 7, 2014 I'm feeling lucky Watch out, I'll break out my Zebco 733 with 20lb mono and blistering 3.8:1 gear ratio and start winching in those hawgs! BTW, you know you can always just delete a post if your post didn't work like you wanted it to right? Quote

sizzlefry Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I'm feeling lucky ten dollar reel on 500 dollar rod I like it Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 8, 2014 Author Global Moderator Posted February 8, 2014 ten dollar reel on 500 dollar rod I like it $525 The reels at least $20 if it's the Authentic 33, could be up to $27 if it's the gold series! You should step up with the big boys and get a Zebco Omega Pro, probably be the best $75 spincast reel you've ever owned Quote

I was told it's exactly the same reel but the pro has 2 spools so you could change line Quote

I was told it's exactly the same reel but the pro has 2 spools so you could change line The pro is black instead of silver also. Hate to have such a sweet reel and have it not match that rod I can honestly say I have fished with an Omega and it is leaps and bounds ahead of most spincasting reels. Now that's an interesting thought though. I know when they used to have some big bass challenge show on TV where the pros fished for a day on El Salto to catch the biggest fish, they had to catch their first fish of the day using a Coke can with line wrapped around it or take a penalty. Should we make everyone catch their first fish of the day on a spincast reel before they can start using their normal gear Quote

I'm sure I could find a snoopy rod at wally world for cheap, guess I need to buy one at some point for my son anyway 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 8, 2014 Author Global Moderator Posted February 8, 2014 Don't do that to the poor kid, just start him straight on spinning gear. I have an extra spincast reel. It's a Daiwa Goldcast, next to the Omega it's as good as it gets in the spincasting world. I'll be rocking the Zebco 733 on my 7' 6" MH Daiwa flipping stick Quote

pbrussell Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Well, some bad news. Doesn't look like I'll be able to make the 20th, or the 19th... Gonna be out of town on easter weekend, and sorry boys, but I'm not buying a trout permit. I'm gonna pull really hard to try and make it down to grand. I don't want to imagine missing a two day bonanza with you goofs. By the way, If we're calling bunks, I'm sleeping next to Curt. In my one piece swimsuit from the picture he likes so much. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 16, 2014 Author Global Moderator Posted February 16, 2014 Outdoors notebook: Trout stocking set for Lake Shawnee Auburndale Park also stocked with trout Posted: February 15, 2014 - 5:43pm From staff reports Lake Shawnee is slated to be stocked with 7,000 pounds of rainbow trout next weekend, according to a press release from Shawnee County Parks and Recreation. The lake will be closed following the Feb. 22 stocking until 6 a.m. March 1 to give the trout ample time to disperse and acclimate to their new surroundings. They will be released at the main boat ramp. Trout must be a minimum of 11 inches in length, and at least 600 will be in excess of 4 pounds each. Some of the trout will be tagged, so if a tagged trout is caught, the tag should be removed and brought to the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation office, 3137 S.E. 29th, to redeem a prize. For more information, contact Terry Bertels by phone at 251-2600 or by email atterry.bertels@snco.us. Quote
