I was just looking through some rods on TW when I came across this rod. There were no reviews and i was wondering if anyone has used these rods or if they are any good. Thanks.

Some Info on the Company & the Excell II line.

Lamiglas is certainly not a newcomer to the fishing rod game.  With a history spanning back over 50 years, they have made rods for just about everything that swims.  With some exceptions, many of Lamiglas' offerings have had a very traditional look to them.  They're looking to change that now and it begins with the redesign of one of their more popular lines.  Lamiglas is making the line much more compelling that with a redesign of the entire series.  The Excel II include refined tapers, Fuji SK-2 reel seats, a guide system with deep pressed inserts, and a new aqua-blue finish - all for $99.

There are thirteen (13) models in the lineup, ten (10) casting and three (3) spinning. The casting models include one cranking stick and one flipping stick then three different powered seven foot sticks and four different powered seven foot three inch sticks. The spinning rods are all seven feet, one inch in length.

So are these rods inspected for quality control before hitting the stores by Lami, or are they direct to the stores from China? I know Kistler claims they inspect their lower end rods made in China before being released, but sometimes I wonder. The build quality on my KLX is better than my made in China Kistlers. Sorry to stray off topic. Lamiglass makes some great blanks, but I've only used their rods assembled in the Lami factory.

Might be a question to ask the manufacturer.

I've always been very satisfied with the quality of all their products; in both fresh & saltwater applications.

Personally I owe a lot of Lami's and they have been an awesome rod. Especially like the rods with the graphite handles. They are also great people to deal with.
