Amarley Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Has anyone used All Pro Rods? I went to Dale Hollow with a guide last fall and he swore by them. Just curious if anyone has any feedback on using them week after week, rather than my experience of just test casting one a few times. I was impressed by their sensitivity and light weight. The guide swears he prefers them to his GLX's, but he is also on their pro staff. http://allprorods.com/ Quote
wordty Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I have not used them, but have read lots about them on here...just do a search on here and find input on them...Academy Sports sells them and that means you can score a great deal on them at the Rod Riots when they have them. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted January 14, 2014 Super User Posted January 14, 2014 ive never heard of them but it sounds like you got a pretty biased opinion from the guide. Quote
tallen316 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I go to church with a guy that fishes a lot and has a ton of experience. I asked him what he thought about them. His reply was I can't tell you here in the church lol.!! He did say they have great sensitivity but he didn't really recommend them. Quote
doyle8218 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 are you talking about All Star Rods or All Pro Rods? Quote
Bjreg3 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I have one, I like it better than my St. Croix's as I believe it to be more sensitive. I do plan on getting the Smallmouth Guru series for fishing from my Kayak. I'm impressed with them... Quote
GaterB Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 A local tackle shop where I live carries them, and the owner has experience with them. I handled a few, and they were very light and felt great. I spoke with the owner about them and he said they were awesome, he just couldn't sell them because they weren't very well known. I'd personally like to try one, but I don't have a need for a rod at the moment. Quote
Amarley Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 are you talking about All Star Rods or All Pro Rods? I know it's confusing, these are "All Pro Rods". Not the Chris Lane-sponsored "All Star Rods". They are made in Tennessee and are building a good following in this region. Just curious if anyone has had luck with them. Quote
troynyc Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Sorry I don't post on here often, but saw this. I won an all pro rod last year. Since then I have ordered 4 more. I love the blaster series. St croix doesn't even compair and I'm selling all of mine. I also have a bunch of g loomis and I will put the all pros up there with them. Quote
bennbassin Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 They are very nice rods, especially the APX series. I've probably bought 40 in my lifetime of fishing bass tournaments. I'm actually going to get a few of the newest models and have about 8 rods that I'd bundle and sell for cheap. Most are APX and lengths etc vary but there only 2 years old and in good shape. If anyones interested let me know. Quote
Blues19 Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I've used a friends All Pro Rod. I loved it. Actually caught the biggest fish of my life on that rod. I am considering getting one myself Quote
MidTNKayakAngler Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I've been using All Pro Rods for almost 3 years years now. I was exclusively using Shimano Cumara rods with a few G.Loomis Mossybacks, and Bronzebacks, and some Dobyn's swimbait rods mixed in and was happy with those setups. Had around 16-18 total combos of the Mossy Backs, Bronze Backs and Cumara's. I had no plan of trying anything else because I was happy with those rods, and had no desire to try anything else. A buddy asked me to try these rods out as he knew I was happy with the rods I was already using, and I'm not one to say yeah this is the best just because of a deal, or that I know someone who uses this product. I'm very picky about what products I use because my wife lets me use any gear I want. I am very satisified with All Pro Rods, they are a Tennessee Company, they make a great product and stand behind it. They are some of the strongest, lightest, and most sensitive rods I own. I've landed 35-40lb freshwater Stripers, and 30-35lb Red Fish with the rods they have had the backbone to handle these fish and I was only using rods rated up to 2oz. I finesse fish the SMG rods jigs for smallmouth and can feel the slightest change in the lure. The tip action of the SMG are great for jerkbaits and Sammy's I'm not saying they are better than the G.Loomis, and Shimano rods I was using, but they are more affordable, and just as good of quality, and they are a local company to me, and I'm happy to support them. I still use Dobyns for swimbaits. Quote
