Hey, I'm new here and will start by introducing myself, my name is Steve and I have been fishing for phew, a long time! lol. I've been a shore fishermen since I can remeber, but recently purchased a late 80's 14' Lund Aluminum boat, and outfitted it with a Lowrance Elite 4 HDI fish finder. Very excited for deeper spring bass structure fishing. Im in the market right now for a nice jig rod, to throw something along the lines of a revenge 3/8 - 1/2 flipping jig to deeper offshore structure. As an Abu Garcia fan i've been eyeing the new Veracity line of rods, and was wondering if anyone has any input? For this style of fishing, would a 7'3'' Medium Heavy Fast Action Veracity rod with a Revo Rocket be fine? Or would a 7'6'' Heavy Fast Action flipping stick be better for this type of application? Any and all info would be great! Thanks.

I dont do that type of fishing very often so I cant give much input, but I will say that Abu rods are generally pretty stout.  I would say you would be safe with the 7'3" MH unless you're tossing jigs into some real heavy stuff.  The heavy abus are absolute brutes.

MH should be fine unless you are putting it into really thick stuff. I think the Abu rods run a little stiff too, so a heavy might be overkill for that lure weight.

If you're open to other rods, I would recommend trying a ***. They normally go for 100, some gander mtns have them 20% off right now. 7'1" MH would be perfect IMO.

Hey Steve,

I've been lucky enough to use the Veracity rods since early October and all I can say is wow. These rods are the most sensitive and light weight rods that Abu Garcia has. I use them for anything from topwater to drop shotting and I haven't had any problems with them.
