Dramer77 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Im from hagerstown also, ive found deals like this at our dicks... i think if it were me i wouldve picked up the curado instead, much nicer reel.. pair it up with a 7" MH rod and you have a nice all around setup.. Also i dunno if you know or not there is a big fishing flea market at the ag center this weekend, being put on by a local bassmaster chapter.... Quote

I have to go to Atlanta this weekend for a business trip. I was very disappointed to see the expo was the same weekend. It was a tough decision on which way to go with those reels.(curado or citica) I figured the 2 reels offered a bigger savings over the 1 and I had about $100 in gift cards to use. Since this is my 1st BC set up I didnt think Id notice a difference between the 2 reels(being a novice) and worse case I could prob trade those 2 for a curado if I want to upgrade in the future. Here is the rod I went with. I ordered it before grabbing the reels and picked it up yesterday. Im debating on ordering another or get something better for the other reel. These are $60 in the stores but $20 online(I used ship to store for free) it felt fine but its kind of a guess until I get it to the water. I figured at a $20 price point how could I go wrong. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Gander-Mountain-Vortex-Casting-Rod-66-Med-Heavy-1-pc&i=715771 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 15, 2014 Super User Posted January 15, 2014 When Shimano went from E to G series, I picked up a ton of Curados and Citicas on the cheap from DSG....blew them out the door here on the FM. I actually wish I kept a few for myself. Quote
Grantman83 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 If you know current prices and what you are looking for, then dicks can have great deals. I've picked up over the years 1. Quantum tour pt. 279.99 for $100 2. Quantum Energy pt 179.99 for $80 3. Stradic ci4 199.99 for $100 4. Citica e for 60 Quote

Super User rippin-lips Posted January 15, 2014 Super User Posted January 15, 2014 Called my local DSG which is an hour away. They have 2 left but I asked about the sale and he said that ended last Saturday. So they're at the regular price again. Quote
