Super User tomustang Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 What's your goals this year? Perhaps a new pb or improvement on a technique.. Most important for me is wanting to get out to different spots meaning diffrrent locations on current lakes and rivers and even new lakes and rivers. Quote
Mike2841 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I want to catch a SM, i know we got them up here i just have to find them. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 Just to get out on the water , another would be to catch my first Small Mouth like Mike mentioned . Quote
MIbassin Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Definitely to break my PB, I've been stuck with it for a few years. I think i definitely will now that i have dove into swim baits, scouted out some promising spots, and joined this site! Quote
Trailer Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Fish structure more effectively and get offshore. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 Get out on the water more, and fish more for smallies. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 My goal is to get Jeff on a 6lb smallie then show him what an eight looks like. 4 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 Same goals as 2013...........and really every year. #1 Have fun.......if it's not fun, it's not worth being out there #2 No expensive break downs, that would put a big hurting on #1 #3 Spend time on the water with my kids #4 Don't hook myself, or fall in the water The fishing will take care of it's self as long as I am in the right place at the right time. 3 Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 1. Get me a double digit 2. Master the baitcast 3. Get some good gopro footage 4. MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN 1 Quote

Big fan of # 2&3 as well. 9# IL bass would not be bad either. Quote
SCangler91 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 More casts into the water and let the rest take care of itself. This will be the first year of my life that I'll be able to really fish in the Spring so I'm pretty excited about that. Quote
CDMeyer Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 This will be my first year fishing high school bass fishing through the FLW TBF SAF..... a teacher and I just got it started yeaterday, so we will be fishing that in Wisconsin this year. So my goal would be to win that..... and same with the BFL event I will be competing in!!!!! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 I don't do resolutions, and I usually don't set goals, but I suppose every year I aim for a new PB. Overall, fishing to me is about enjoyment, getting outside, becoming proficient at the sport/hobby. I don't do tourney fishing, for me it's all about having fun and loving the sport. 1 Quote
dustin11 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 1. Improve with jigs and crankbaits 2. fish hard and stay confident all day while fishing and especially during tournaments 3. win money in tournaments, came close in a lot of them this year but not close enough 4. Have fun (this one won't be hard) Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 I'm a fan of goals and for fishing in 2014 I'm planning to pursue my PB in areas I typically don't fish. I'm way too comfortable fishing specific spots in my home waters where I know I'll catch numbers of quality fish and I need to branch out a little more to catch a pig. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 To get back to the states so i can start catching BASS again lol. 4 years overseas is to long. I loved this assignment but 2-3 years woulda been good. Idk how people stay overseas most their career lol. 1 Quote
slainempire Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 improve on my topwater fishing and catch more fish than i did last year. i had a pretty good year in 2013 so if i catch more it will sure be a fun year. Quote
bighed Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Repower my boat with a Hydro Tec Yamaha. Recarpet and repair some of the wear and tear on it. Quote
Todd2 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I plan to get off the bank a little, fish a little more after dark. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 Mine would be a hope not a goal, I don't have any control of what's swimming by. While I'm still able to walk, lol, I'd like to hook any kind of fish that will strip out 200 yds of line (without opening my bail) chase it on foot down the beach stepping over rocks for a half mile and land it. That will be my greatest catch and my last fish, I'll retire. 2 Quote

That was fishing Chandeleur for trout and hooked a jack like you are holding but close to 30 pounds. Took a couple hours of chasing to finally land. One of the most powerful fish pound for pound I've ever hooked. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 1. Get out and fish more often 2. Sell enough of this extra tackle to buy a HDS-8 for the boat. Allen Quote

MIbassin Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 . I've caught that 30# jack, words haven' been created to explain it last year I went to key west for flats fishing. It was incredible watching schools of 25# jack coming up and having one of them destroy your lure! In a couple of hours I boated four of them ranging from 20-27lbs. Best fight of my life on light tackle! Quote
