BuffaloBass716 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I know I've been posting and researching a lot recently about spooling up some spinning reels and was wondering what you guys have to say about your favorite fluorocarbon line for a spinning reel. I think I'm going to use #6 line. Another topic... does the color of braided line really matter? Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 Pretty much have to get online but I have had great success with Silver Thread flur. Have used for many years. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 If the cost is of not concern, #6 Tatsu, Otherwise, #10 InvizX. Quote
BenB54 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I usually use braid and a leader, but recently I spooled one of my spinners up with trilene xl pro grade 100% fluoro and have been quite impressed. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 I'm using InvisX and Tatsu, in 6# diameter. I've got one season with Tatsu, and four with Invisx. No reason to switch at this point. 1 Quote
MacP Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I've not used everything out there but I like Seaguar stuff. Quote
dustin11 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 My favorite is berkley trilene pro grade 100% fluorocarbon. I have used stren fluorocast and haven't had any problems with it. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 If the cost is of no concern, #6 Tatsu, Otherwise, #10 InvizX. x2. For me it pretty much just depends how much I've spent on the rest of my order when I'm buying line to respool. Tatsu is frequently on sale these days, so it's not quite as pricey as it used to be (still considerably more than Invizx). You won't lose either way. Quote
adam32 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 8# Seaguar Invizx for spinning reels works well for me. Quote
Grantman83 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I usually use braid and a leader, but recently I spooled one of my spinners up with trilene xl pro grade 100% fluoro and have been quite impressed..Please let me know how this line turns out as I was interested in it. I know trilene fluoro doesn't get the best rep but I have a spool of 12lb that is great. A spinning reel specific fluoro interests me. Quote
