CDMeyer Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Hey guys just wanted to see you guys thoughts..... who do you think will win the Bassmaster Classic, how, and why? Quote
Megastink Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Man, thats a seriously loaded question! The only thing I can say for certain is that it will be a slug fest. I expect BIG weights. 1 Quote
bluenitrouscoupe Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I believe that this is going to be Gerald Swindle. This guy is due up for a win and is in the thick of things a lot of the time not to mention that he fishes Guntersville a lot. Also if I was to pick the top 6 it would go like this 1) G-man 2)Brandon Palaniuk 3) Mike Iaconelli 4)Jason Christie 5)Casey Ashley 6)Chris Zaldain Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 KVD! He is due a win! Quote
tbone1993 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Hopefully Jordan Lee. It would be cool to see a college kid win it. Quote
Grantman83 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Edwin Evers is due for either a classic or AOY win. That guy is as consistent as it gets. Jason Christie is on a tear in both tours. Who do I hope wins? I am a big Skeet Reese fan but would love to see aaron martens finally win the big one 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 The bridesmaid deserves to win one. I'm routing for Aaron Martens. 1 Quote
Super User tomustang Posted January 10, 2014 Super User Posted January 10, 2014 The best man, that's who Quote
stew6371 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 KVD wins the classic & Brandon Palaniuk is the AOY. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 I would like to see Mike McClellend pull off a big win. Quote
bluenitrouscoupe Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I would like to see Mike McClellend pull off a big win. I didn't think Mike McClellend made the Classic this year. Quote
Super User aavery2 Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 I would like to see Mike McClellend pull off a big win. I didn't think Mike McClellend made the Classic this year. You may be right, I have to admit that I did not check the field. I am just use to him being there, he did have marginal season last year and may not have made it in. Well at any rate, I hope he pulls off a big win this year. 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 If it's a ripping a trap out of grass deal, I wouldn't bet against KVD. I'd like to Palaniuk get the win, seems like a great kid, and he's been oh so close before. Really other than Ike, or KVD, there would be nobody better, as far as PR for the sport than him to win it. Megastink Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Don't count out those California swimbait guys!!!!! That lake has some giant bass in it, and you only need five bites a day. It would surprise me to see a guy like Skeet Reese, Fred Rombanis, or the like catch HUGE bags on spawn-cove points. The conditions should be right for it, providing the water is clear. Quote
bighed Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Would love to see Gary Klein finally win one. Not a nicer guy in the sport. Quote
Hoytman#1 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Favorites to win KVD Duh right Chris Lane Odds are good! Dark Horses Mark Dove Jordan Lee Kid can fish!!! And has been fishing the lake his whole life!! Quote
bighed Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Sat next to Mark Dove at the BASS Nation Championship awards dinner. Besides beng a heck of a stick, he's a very nice and interesting fellow! Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted January 12, 2014 Super User Posted January 12, 2014 I don't know who will win, but I wouldn't put a dime on KVD for this one. Just my gut feeling. He may do well, but I just don't think he's gonna win this one. Quote
