Red Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Here is a link to my bag...it is the AZ Medium. http://fishing.flambeauoutdoors.com/otdrs_fishing/soft_tackle/soft_tackle_systems.asp Currently my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits are stored in the zipper pocket that is on the inside of the lid. They are just a tangled up mess in there. However, I really like they way everything else is stored. The main compartment holds my bags of plastics stored like a filing cabinet. The large outer pocket holds one box with jigs and hardbaits. Don't really know what to do to solve this. Any ideas? I don't really want a bag that is too much bigger and I really like my "filing" system for plastics so I would prefer to not change it. Is there a smaller size "hanging" box that might work? A wallet maybe that could fit in there somewhere? I am open to suggestions as it is a real pain to untangle them when I need it. Thanks Cliff Quote
backwater4 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Like you mentioned a worm wallet/binder works well. Some companies make one specific to spinnerbaits, but any will work. It keeps them neat, untangled and takes up little space. I do one for spinnerbaits and one for buzzbaits. If you dont carry a ton of baits, they stay relatively compact. There are also plastic Plano/Falcon boxes that do the job, but I've noticed in the boat if they get shook up or turned over, you still have a mess. You could also just put them in individual ziplocks and keep them in the bag you have. Quote
Ima Bass Ninja Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 i use a cd holder the kind with the fabric and plastic, never had an issue with them falling out and it keeps them separated and organized. here's the one i use but you can get them in smaller sizes if needed.. Quote

Red Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Never would have thought of that, might give that a try. Thanks! Quote
Super User slonezp Posted November 25, 2010 Super User Posted November 25, 2010 You have way too many spinnerbaits. What you need to do is keep 1 tied to the line, 1 extra in the bag and send me the rest. The CD holder looks like a good idea. Quote
scrutch Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 This is a smaller version of my spinnerbait box. I absolutely love falcon boxes for their innovative ways of organizing tackle. The spinnerbaits are held in by the wire and mine never come out. They're really easy to pick the bait you need, I have mine organized by color, then by size. If you have room, I think you'll like it. http://www.***.com/Falcon_FTO_401_Spinnerbait_Box/descpage-FTO401.html Quote
flyboy Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I use the folder type organizer also. I tear the description and color off each bait when I open the package and place it in the pouch with the bait. Every Time I need to replace a bait or lose one I can easily identify it. I would prefer a box like the falcon box but I haven't found a good way to label the baits in it yet. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 3, 2010 Super User Posted December 3, 2010 I just picked up a Plano 3940 that will hold 96 spinnerbaits which should be just enough for a day of fishing :. Allen Quote
guitarkid Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I use a Molle or Alice standard issue military back pack. With that being said, I have 4 or 5 370 sized boxes, a cd binder I use to hold jigs and spinnerbaits. I would recommend that if you want the filing system, because a 370 sized box fits pretty good in the main compartment. -gk Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted December 3, 2010 Super User Posted December 3, 2010 I like the Falcon spinner bait boxes. I have several, organized (kind of) by brand and weight. I have 2 of the smaller spinner bait boxes that I keep empty, so if I'm going in some one else's boat, I'll just fill those up with what I think I'll need. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 3, 2010 Global Moderator Posted December 3, 2010 Give the Falcon box another vote, I have the bigger one but the smaller one holds all the spinnerbaits you probably really need for a days fishing. Quote
SeanW Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Personally I dont use anything special. I actually use a Zip Lok bag and sort by color. I have several of the gallon Zip Locs in the boat at all times. There is about 20 SB in each one. They really dont tangle much, spinnerbaits are easy to seperate and I find it faster to get em out this way. Quote

I would prefer a box like the falcon box but I haven't found a good way to label the baits in it yet. A piece of 2 inch clear packing tape works great for labeling. Put a piece in the falcon box before you organize your baits. Then write on the tape with a black sharpie after you get the baits where you want. I use this method to label all my boxes on the outside too. If I get a chance, I'll post a pic. Quote
