I had cleaned and re-lubed 3 reels, so far today. On 2 of the reels I cleaned, once I cleaned the gears and put the drag washers back on and closed up the frame. I would spin the handle and the gears would not spin. So I partially took off the side-cover, looked in and the "catch" gear was spinning and everything else except the main gear/pinion. So I took off the drag washer, applied a light amount of grease and firmly pressed the two together. Once I closed it all up again, I tightened the drag to make sure in cinched. This stopped my problem and everything has been fine. Though I am wondering, did I do something wrong and what should I do if that happens again/what should I apply to it.

Thanks

If Everything is fine now, i wouldn't worry. The adding of the grease should not of effected anything. Souunds like things were not seated properly the first time. What brand reel is it?

One was an Abu Garcia, the other was some Gander Mtn. reel (my dad's.) I'm pretty sure it's made by a company called Danco. Also it took multiple times to get them to finally work before pressing the drag together, so I don't know, i kept retrying. I looked at my diagrams too. I saw nothing wrong.

Check the two metal drag washers under the drag star make sure their like this () together.  Not like ((  or This ))

That was already checked, they're fine now, so I don't know what was going on, everything in the reel seemed to be inline. So i'm still confused haha

Sounds like you didn't have the drag tightened down enough to spin the spool.

Been their, it has to do with the way the  washers and plates fit togehter

The main gear floats on the drive shaft, it is pressure from the drag that allows it to turn.  No drag pressure, no turn.
