Super User Bankbeater Posted January 8, 2014 Super User Posted January 8, 2014 I have a Rapala digital scale. In this cold weather I take it out of the tackle bag and put it in my coat pocket. It seems to work better when its warmer. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted January 8, 2014 Super User Posted January 8, 2014 Take a look here. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/129074-major-league-fishing-scale-used/ Quote

I use one and it seems pretty accurate to me. Yeah - they're a pretty good scale for the money. The first three that I've had were all accurate within about an ounce at the 10lb range - then I bought a 4th one and finally got a "bad" one..............it was off by a whopping two ounces at ten pounds... The report on these scales was here: Rapala Mini Digital Scale - Load Test Report While there are nicer, perhaps more accurate digital scales, the good thing about this one is that it is very compact and fits in the fanny pack I wear when fishing from the bank. The scale you have with you is always more accurate than the scale you left at home... Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 8, 2014 Super User Posted January 8, 2014 The past 5 years Jennings Ultra Sport 30 has worked flawlessly for me. I believe it's now Ultra Sport V2 30. This is a compact digital scale with tape measure and very accurate. Tom Quote
BadBassWV Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 WRB I like the looks of this scale and with your recommendation am ready to purchase one. It looks like the hook has a blunt end, How do you get the fish hooked on this scale to weigh them. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 11, 2014 Super User Posted January 11, 2014 The $20 50lb Berkley digital scales they sell at Wal-mart have always done right by me. I own an Equalizer tournament scale for the tournaments I run, and the Berkley has always weighed fish the same as that scale......as well as several other orginizations tournament scales. Good enough for me. I guess if I was a record hunter, or super anal enough to care about mili-ounces or what not, I'd buy a better one. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted January 12, 2014 Super User Posted January 12, 2014 I use the Rapala digital scale also. I have no complaints, other than not needing to use it as much as I would like. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Anyone used those lip grip scales? Any real advantage over the regular digital scales? Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 12, 2014 Super User Posted January 12, 2014 Use a net or plastic bag to put the fish into, with a net zero the scale before weighing the fish. You can also use a sharp fish stringer clip. Tom Quote
