CDMeyer Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Hey I am in the proses of starting a bass team at my high school. I meet tomorrow with the principle to discuss it. I have talked to Mark Ginhert from the TBF who helps organize and get clubs starting in the SAF (Student Angler Foundation). I have done as much research's as I think can be done I wrote up a sheet to follow along during the meeting. I was just wondering has anybody tried to start one of there own or helped with getting one going? If so what did you do that would be helpful to get my high schools off the ground? Quote
Ohio Dave Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 CM are you a student or advisor? having a faculty member on board helps a lot. my district is very detail oriented I had to discususs how membership would be determined , insurance , how adults not part of the school system might be a part of the program in a club proposal. the process took three months to write and approve. I am still on a probation for two years before they will move on if they will let us stay a club. use either the b.a.s.s. or s.a.f. club resources to help organize what you (all) want the club to be like and as a way to address most of the likely questions a board would have Quote
CDMeyer Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Yeah I have done extensive research. This will be our 9 month in getting it going and it all comes down to tomorrow Quote
