JKarbo214 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Topwater fishing is by far my favorite technique to catch big bass. What is everyone's favorite wake bait and color for trophy-sized bass? Quote
VolFan Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Black MS Slammer Mini. Or 9 inch Slammer. Go big or go home. Quote

basshole8190 Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Mini or 7" slammers in black, g2 shellcracker in redear and 316 baby wake and wake jrs in shad or sissy are my favorites Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Strike King Wake Shad get no love but are really good wake baits. They float on pause and you can twitch it like an injured fish. $20 retail but cheap on ebay. Quote
gobig Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Hard to pick just one. I like different baits for different situations. These are the baits I use the most. 9in Slammer, BBZ 1, Wake Jr and a rat bait my brother makes. Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted January 5, 2014 Super User Posted January 5, 2014 Manns Waker elite in rootbeer chartreuse, Aurora black, or baby bass, these are the best wake baits ever made IMO. I only had 2 baits left, a friend of mine had 2 I gave him one day when I was crushing the fish on it and I lost another to a huge Musky. I was in a panic and not knowing what else to do I called Manns bait company and talked to a wonderful rep who told me they did have some old stock left and in the colors I wanted so I got 8 more, now I don't have to worry. Seriously though, the Waker is awesome because you can burn it and it only goes like 3" under and all you see on the surface is a bulge and then a swirl and then you feel the rod trying to be pulled from you hands....It is an awesome way to catch bass and a very overlooked presentation, if you can find them try them, you won't be sorry!! BenB54 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Buckeye Wake Up, I'll definitely be trying the Deps and the Mann's for sure though. Quote
