I've usually only used tackle boxes but I'm looking at switching to tackle bags. The only problem that I've been noticing is tackle bags don't seem to have a lot of space for soft plastics. Does anyone have any recommendations for tackle bags with enough space for soft plastics?

I use the same BPS tackle bag as above but in the standard red version. I also bought 2 of the cheaper ($9) BPS worm binders along with some extra binder pages. I filled 1 of the binders with soft plastics and the other with jig trailers. The binders fit perfectly in the side compartments of the tackle bag. Everything is organized and nothing is loose. It works very nicely.

A separate worm binder or a bag just for plastics & trailers is never a bad idea.

I'm switching to Plano boxes for a book bag to hold terminal tackle and cranks, jigs, etc. I'm also looking at a bag for just soft plastics that will fit in my book bag with the Plano boxes, there are some on TW that hold 20 bags of soft plastics and it small enough to fit into a bigger book bag. Anyone buy/have something similar?

Ive used a cabelas version of this bag in the past. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Stalker-Backpack-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/1304050935/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT  Its a great backpack to carry your gear for shore fishing. I used the top to hold the soft plastics I planned to use and kept the rest in my car. If you are going to be on a boat use the other bps bag suggested.

Look up a h2o tackle back pack will change your life! Ample room for whatever you need, has 2 rod holders, a line spool, and even a detachable cooler! It's only $50 too I love this back pack I used tackle bags before this and nothing comes close

I'm recycling an old soft side cooler for plastics. Fits 23 bags of plastic, fits perfectly in my bookbag along with the four plano box's.

That's a good idea. I should start looking at coolers instead of tackle bags.

This is the one I use:

http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Extreme-Qualifier-370-Camo-Tackle-Bag-or-System/product/10231462/

The side and front compartments can hold a lot of plastics.

Great bag, I have the red one, but I had it so loaded it got a little cumbersome. I dropped down to the 360 version, the blue one, and it works out perfectly for me. But you are right, the design is perfect for anything you will ever need.

I love my BassPro Extreme Qualifier 370. It has more than enough room that I always end up overloading. I would stay away from the blue softsided Plano bags from Walmart. I bought one to store my plastice and both seems ripped with less than a month of little use.

I use the BPS bag mentioned above but in the 360 (blue) version. It is advertised as only fitting 5 utility boxes but I have 7 in the main compartment. 5 on their sides and 2 on top and I am able to close it with ease. I also have a 350 box and probably 20 bags of soft plastics in the front pocket. I keep my tools in the very front pocket (3 pairs of pliers a pocket knife and fingernail clippers. In the 2 side pockets I have 2 spools of line (big ones) and a bottle of scent on one side and two Rapala scales, a very small utility box and sunscreen in the other. It also has a pocket that I use for a water bottle or bug spray.

As you can see, I fit a lot of stuff in this smaller bag and it does tend to get heavy by the end of the day. But all in all it is a great bag. I have outgrown it though and like to bring more than what I can fit so I picked up the backpack version as well. That way I can carry a lunch with me and have a place to put my hoodie or whatever. And at least 5 more utility boxes.

If I had a criticism it would be that the bag can get quite cumbersome. I compounded matters by using the thin profile boxes so that I could put even more lures in the main compartment and now it weighs a ton (I think I have 7 or 8 3700 thin Planos in there). Frankly I'm surprised the shoulder strap hasn't broken. Speaks to its quality I suppose.

Ive gone through 3 bags this year and finally settled on the Flambeau AZ8

To me its perfect for a co angler.

As a co-angler, I have a travel bag (holds 3x 3600s, plus a couple of pockets, etc.), and my main bag (Plano 3700 bag). Works well for me without taking a lot of space, and still gives me a lot of flexibility in what baits/presentations I can use.

I have the BPS Extreme Qualifier 370.  I do not install the dividers in the boxes except for boxes with jigs, terminal tackle, or crankbaits.  What I do with plastics is take the bag and roll it up.  The 370 box is deep enough to fit the entire bag in the box.  I can get between 8 and 10 bags in one box depending on the bait.

Anybody tried the new plano 3710 guide series bag yet?

For boat, I use BPS's 370 red bag also. However, after I bought that I saw one from Cabel's I like their big one because it is more vertical than BPS one. My BPS one when it is fully loaded takes up lots of real estate on my small boat. I used to fill my front pocket with all extra plastics in their own bags, but it got too heavy so I don't do that any more. I just have ones I need in the 3700 boxes.

That back pack looks very nice! I was looking for something like that last summer...one with tackel box compartment and rod holder on left side. I couldn't find anything nice, so I bought military type back pack which has bunch of straps and attached 12 inch PVC pipe to left side to carry extra rod.

I've had many tackle bags of all prices, the zippers either break or get corroded, at present my Browning isn't too bad, I only use it for offshore.  For my kind of fishing a tackle bag is a burden, I really like my set up.  I use a fanny pack with 6 plastic lure boxes, each box has several lures in it, spoons, bucktails, storm swimbaits, jerkbaits, topwaters, and metal swim jigs or gotchas.  In separate pocket I have spools of leader lines and swivels, on the belt is sheath with pliers, attached to one of the zippers are steel leaders.  I have about every thing covered that I use.
