papajoe222 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I don't know what size hooks you're thinking about cutting, but I use a pair of quality side (diagonal) cutters for most of my bassin hooks. About the only hooks they won't cut are spinner/buzzbait hooks and some of the big swimbait hooks. Quote
shootermcbob Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I have these with me in case I get hooked. They will cut any of my hooks with one hand... in case I have to cut a hook out of the other hand! http://www.lowes.com/pd_284332-16878-50235_?PL=1&productId=1240709 1 Quote

I have a pair of Kobalt diagonal cutters and they will cut a 4/0 standard wire hook, I got them just for that purpose because I didn't want to lose the ones I have for home use. The bolt cutters are a little overkill is you ask me but there is no question they will cut any hook you have. Quote

X2 I've been in the boat with a 52year old man with a 42" musky hooked to his arm by a 5/0 Treble. Thank goodness we had those cutters. They are a must I have 1 knipix and 1 off brand for backup. Do your self a favor and buy them Quote
Super User slonezp Posted January 4, 2014 Super User Posted January 4, 2014 You can get side cutters at any big box, hardware, or electrical supply Quote
