Plain and ever so simple , if you want one , get one , if I had the extra cash to support what I love about this site and everything it represents , by d**n I would do it , no questions asked , your not the only one who would wear this shirt , there are plenty of others , otherwise , there would be no demand to keep these shirts in stock , get it and be happy , wear it with pride , as much pride as you want , it's just that dang simple IMO .

I don't understand your problem if the answer is yes!

are you putting on that football jersey and stepping on the field?  For your sake, I hope not.

Sorry, but if I see a guy wear a biker shirt/ fishing jersey but aren't actually sponsored, I'd have a negative first impression.

What about those guys who wear military medals but never served?  Displaying national pride and attracting new recruits, or a toolbag looking for attention?

If I ever wear a jersey, it will be because I earned it.  Until then, I'll stick with BR sticker on my truck and hope someone I pass see's it and visits.

wear it, who cares what people think. I do not fish tournaments, but I wear several jerseys while fishing. The only reasons I do it is because I like the material, and do not care if I get water splash or fish slime on it. 90% of my fishing is private water, so im not really around anyone. Who cares what people think.

However, I'm a cyclist too, and I know there's a major "foul" committed if you wear the team kit of a professional team without earning it by actually being a pro. Most of us two-wheeled maniacs still wear kits that display the logos of various manufacturers of our equipment which is considered "acceptable" since it's not a team jersey per-say.

Being in South Florida, especially Saturday mornings on A1A, there are literally hundreds of bikers donning apparel that would make some believe they have entered the Tour de France.   That said my wife tells me I'm no different as I often wear fishing pants and a long sleeve t, that do have a company name.  I don't normally use those reels, I just like the fit of the shirt.

A fishing jersey, not likely to be part of my wardrobe.

Fishing jerseys are 100% polyester moisture wicking material. The reason they can have dozens of colors and logos laid out on them through a process called dye sublimation. Arguably the most comfortable material to fish in. Its pretty much the same as your cycling jersey minus the spandex. So don't let that deter you from ever wanting to wear one.

This is great information, thanks.

If your a member here, like the site, and want to share this site with others, then wear the the shirt. I probably make more connections wearing a tasteful button down shirt with our logo than any tournament. Spread the word.

The alternative is fishing topless.. If you choose that path, I would definitely keep the lipstick at home.

You'll be fine as long as you don't wear lipstick.

What's wrong with lipstick??? It's great for keeping your lips from getting chapped on long runs in cold weather, plus you can always match the color to that new custom jersey. :laugh5:

So I saw the portion of BassResource.com that has the option to make custom jerseys.

Man I really want one, I think they look cool.....heck they're sweet lookin'

That said, would it be considered off-taste or gawdy for me to wear one of those jerseys even though at best I might fish 1 or 2 very small tournaments this year? I just like the look and would like to proudly display the names of the lures/rods/reels/accessories I use even heading down to a local pond or river. I just think they look cool.

Be honest, I've got thick skin, so if you think I'd look goofy then by all means tell me! Haha.... :)

I do think you would look goofy...but it would have nothing to do with the classy bassresource jersey, it's just that you look GOOFY

All kidding aside, wear it with pride. It is your money, and if you want to wear it, by all means go for it. You don't have to earn anything, other than the money you need to pay for it.

Long as you don't buy it and run around telling everyone BR this and BR that and not actually come here at all then you're alright. Which isn't the case since I've seen you walk the halls here. Support what you like, contribute to, support what you like

I think under your aspect for actually contributing to the site with an article (Glenn or someone up top approved it) would push you closer to purchasing one and spread the word, you have a good story to tell if anyone asks you about your jersey.

Simple point here, you can wear what you like but don't think you wont get criticism about it. I hear all the time about how my dad wears a clevland browns shirt, he always wonders why people say things like "browns suck' or 'how bout them browns'. He's not a Browns fan, he doesn't even like football. He wears the shirt because it fits him, he doesn't realize fanbase of the nfl

.

Swear our society as a whole wants to be judged regardless.

This thread is most amusing.  Clothes?  What to wear?  What not to wear?

I don't dress to impress.  Just ask my wife.  Well excluding Ghoti's soiree of course.  But that's just to tweak a couple of clothes horses we have that are meticulous in the apparel they wear.  :eyebrows:  :eyebrows:

If someone gave me a billboard fishing shirt, I'd wear it.  But I'm not inclined to spend my money on it for the purpose of impressing others.  A fishing shirt is not going to cause me to catch one more, or one less fish.  I wear clothing to protect myself from the elements, and to spare the eyes of others around me.

"Clothes make the man."  Not in my book.  I can put my shirt on our dog.  He'll still be a dog.  I can wear a lab coat, but that doesn't make me a doctor.  I'm perfectly comfortable with those who are meticulous, and take pride in their appearance.  It's just not for me.  Different strokes for different folks and all that rot.

I wear what I want, and I extend that same privilege to others around me, without concerning myself as to why they dress the way they do.

That's just me, about 40 years ago.

Agreed, but maybe I'm just cheap. I have years worth of TW shirts and hoodies I got free with purchases over $100(I think). I wear them all the time. They started charging this year. I chose not to get one

It's good to have the game go along with the garb.  Years ago I played golf with a guy that wore plus 4's all the time, couldn't break 90 and looked like a goofy fool.  On the other hand Payne Stewart had the game, looked great wearing them, and was one of the class acts out there.  It's one thing to compete for 6 figure prize funds and represent your sponsors while doing "business" out there.  For me to knock out a few fish for recreation, shorts and t shirt is usually my costume of the day.

This week it's going to be 20 degrees in the morning, that's cold for Georgia - in honor of this thread I may wear some jorts - just because I want to...

Yes, but, Payne wore them in NFL colors if I remember correctly.  What would he have looked like wearing them on the gridiron.

The style was just a retro look.  You don't see the pros today wearing neckties while they play the game.

At some point they lost the knickers (was that short for Knickerbockers?) but kept the ties.

When I was a kid, we wore half knickers.  Many of our bicycles didn't have chain guards.  To prevent our pants from getting bound up in the sprocket we'd tuck our pants into our socks, but only on the side that had the chain.  :Victory:

when i'm fishing tournaments, if other boats start chasing the "bent rod pattern", i like to rock out the rebel flag speedo.  that usually stops any "spot encroachment".  plus, i get a pretty badass tan.

just kidding.  i have been tempted to try it a couple of times.

Bet you attached a playing card on the spokes so it would make noise.
