Day before yesterday i had the notion to go to Bass Pro, so i woke up yesterday morning and started my 4 hour trip to Toledo.. Knowing in my head that there was a good chance of snow..

Well guess what i get within 25 miles and it is pouring the snow.. Took me 45 min to go 12 miles lol But oh well i got to go spend alot of money and i wouldnt of traded it for the world... Things we do as die hard fisherman...

Wow, I definitely prefer shopping in store vs online, but not that much. So far it's just the occasional trip to the local Dick's and lots of time on *** for me.

I am 16 miles from my BPS. What a blessing... or is it?....lol.

Hootie

I know what you mean Hootie. I have one 15 minutes away. This time of year with sub zero temps and cabin fever i have been known to go there with a handkerchief and sit in front of the giant fish tank and cry while all the little kids stare at me from a distance.  :cry4:

I have 2 BPS, Cabela's, 2 Academy Sports, a few DSG, and a very nice local shop called Roger's Sporting Goods, all within a half hours drive. It is a curse some days.

As for the OP, I pulled my boat through 7 inches of snow with more falling fast for 5 hours to go to the Bassmaster Classic at Grand last year. I've pulled it through about that much and broke ice at the ramp just to fish more than once  :eyebrows:

The bait monkey must of been bugging you to go. Bass pro is about 4 hours from me also, I heard for a few years now they're putting one here in Pittsburgh. So far no luck. I have a cabela's about 2 hours away. Glad to see you fight the snow to get out there.

I think I may be less than 15 away from BPS, some nights I go there and just look, price things out in my head and plan my next purchases.

I am about 2hours away from BPS in Orlando and a little over 2hrs from BPS in Savannah. So I generally shop online when using BPS unless I am in Orlando. Must admit I like going in store when shopping but I generally go to Dicks and Academy since they are local!

BUTTTTT They are building a BPS Outdoor World with a 12 acre managed lake right in my backyard!!! Literally 5 mins away (it's suppose to be the 4th biggest attraction in ALL OF FLORIDA WOW) its gonna be a problem a huge problem! My girlfriend told me I better put a ring on her finger before it opens or she will leave me for cheating on her with BassPro weekly lol

I personally want most everything they have in stock, unfortunately the bank account wont allow it lol

Ditto here!  Last year I was able to get rid of some stuff that allowed me to upgrade.  I'm hoping this year I can do the same.

You guys are lucky! I don't even know what I would do if I had one that close, would probably have to get a second job.. Just got a lot of jigs, got the 67 peice jig set. Kvd strike king crank bait kit.. Bunch of random things like smaller crankbaits, swim baits.. Then I figured I better have enough money for that 4 hour trip home lol

Mr. Bluebasser, I got a good chuckle out of your post and it brought a smile to me.  I drove truck coast to coast for a lot of years and got a good mental picture of you in your pickup with a determined look of dedication pulling your boat to Grand Lake through 7 inches of snow for 5 hours with more falling at a fast rate. Oh boy, I have been there.  Now don't be offended but I think we should change your forum name from Bluebasser to Blowbasser and write a song about you. Maybe the chorus could go something like this --- "he will blow through the snow just catch big moe, cause he's the Blooowbasser".  Tight line Mr Bluebasser. You brought back some fond memories of being on the road. From me to you,  you get the gold star for dedication.
