Hey guys I'm in the market for one of these two trolling motors. I realize the motorguide isn't being sold until next month have any of you been able to test them out ? I know anglers help these companies with their prototypes. I want to make the right decision, any advice can help.

Ipilot is proven. I just did year 4 or 5 with it and I'm upgrading to Ipilot Link

I just got my I pilot/ Terrova and I like it!

The Terrova is lots nicer than my MG wireless!

Im looking at the same two but there are a couple things that are making me lean towards xi5. The footpedal looks better and it looks like it has spotlock on the pedal, that is a big deal imho. I use lawrance electronics already and being in VA lakemaster is non existent. That said, I would not drop that kind of cash for a tm on its first year. The xi5 is compelling enough though for me to put off my purchase for a year so i can let others be the Guinea pigs and maybe I will get a chance to use in person before making final choice.

I'm also wanting it upgrade from the I pilot to the I pilot link. But one of the main lakes I fish in the winter is a powerplant lake and it is not on my Lakemaster map. If the lake doesn't have a map will the link do anything that the regular I pilot won't do?

Another thing I've found is if you want to link 2 Humminbirds with a I pilot link you will need a 5 port and 2 Ethernet cables and that's going to cost at least $300!!!!!!!!!!!

You can connect the Link to one unit without any added expense.

You'll need the Link module, one of these HB graphs http://www.minnkotamotors.com/_docs/Products/Accessories/i-Pilot_Link/i-Pilot_Link_Humminbird_LakeMaster_Compatibility-4-9-13(2).pdf ( the list with the compatible 2014 graphs isn't out yet ),  a new gps puck http://store.humminbird.com/products/629922/AS_GPS_HS and the Lakemaster card of your liking
