I have been reading reviews about these rods which are mixed at best. Does anyone have any experience with this new rod? I am currently switching all my rods over from Veritas and looking for a good square bill and shallow cranking rod.

just looking for opinions on this new rod

I have the Kovert 7'6" Cranking Rod. So far, it has met all my expectations. I researched Denali a good bit before getting on their pro-staff. They have a great reputation and service. I don't believe you can go wrong with the Kovert. Just my opinion.

The Koverts are a great line of rods that are budget friendly especially for the Quality and feel that come with them. As a prostaff member I will try to answer any questions that you may have . I primarily use the Rosewood series for cranking both shallow and deep so as to the direct question I can not answer. I do use the Kovert flipping rod and just like all the other denali's that I own it is a great rod.

I haven't had a chance to actually use these rods yet in real fishing situations.  I have handled them with different reels attached and generally they balance as well as some higher end rods.

I have had quite a few customer purchase them and offer feed back and it's all been good.  Everyone that I talk to says at that price point they are a great rod.

Thanks guys who all answered and I will be coming to Valley soon to get a couple.

Kovert rods are great. The really focused on making this a lightweight durable rod. I went flipping all day with the 7'8 xh and you would forget you had a flipping stick in your hand. It's that light and really moves the fish. I would honestly like to know where you have found bad reviews, because the is nothing bad about this line up. And behind the rod customer service at Denali rods is phenomenal! That's is something they take pride in taking care of customers. If you have anymore specific questions about the movers series shoot me a pm.

Thank you the reviews I read was on tackle warehouse and Denali website. They said it is heavier than advertised, too many guides and the amount of guides take away from its sensitivity.

I'll see if I can find and read those. Now I'm not a little guy 6' 215 and still work out, but I can tell a light rod when I pick one up. And the Kovert as well as the other line ups are light. Even the 7'11 Rosewood and Jadewood are lighter than most mat/Bama rig rods. Koverts utilize a semi micro guide system and has the right amount of guides. The 7'8 has 15 +1 guides. It's not overkill, on shorter rods as there are less guides on shorter lenghts. The number of guides equals points of contact between the line and the blank hence sensitivity. I like them which is why I'm on the pro staff and plan on being there for a while. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I can only speak on my experiences.

What you say about the rod is what all the positive reviews said which out number the three negatives. I am ready to pull the trigger on this rod.

Just to echo what the others are saying, the Kovert's are definitely nice. I have the 7'2" MH casting rod and really enjoy it. Having said that, I'd be lying if I said that I haven't thought, "Man, that rod has a lot of guides" but nothing is sacrificed, especially sensitivity. This is corroborated by ***'s review done on the Kovert series a couple months back. Enjoy!

Just bought two Kovert Cranking rods in M 6'10" and MH 7'6" at the Indianapolis Boat, Sport and Travel show (20% off). Can't wait to get them on the water.
