This year I used 12lb yo-zuri hybrid line and it did really well for me. Next year I am changing up lines to try some new stuff. I plan on using 15lb Seaguar fluorocarbon.

I use braid for everything except crankbaits so braid, but I just spooled some invisx on my spinnerbait rod just to try something new.

I'd like to use braid but how heavy should I go? I use 20# braid on my spinning reels but I'm worried that it's too light for a baitcaster. However, I also feel like 50# or 60# is too heavy but I could be wrong.

I think you would be fine using 50lb braid. Most in that range have the same size as 12-14lb mono.

I use a superline with a mono equivelent diameter of 10 lb test. Typically that is 50# superline.

I like the stiffer types like Spiderwire Stealth in most cases.

spinnerbaits are a reaction bait and line visibility isn't too much of a concern. KVD uses straight 15-20# fluorocarbon. i use 50# braid with a 20# FC leader (braid is too limp and has a tendency to foul the blades so that is why i use a short length of FC for leader).

14# Sunline fluoro. I can't stand using braid for spinnerbaits.

I've been using P-line cxx for years. 12-14 lb. Cheap, durable, problem free.

Thank you all so much for the responses! I haven't decided what I want to do yet. I'm leaning towards straight fluorocarbon but I run #20 green PP on a spinning reel with a 9' fluoro leader and I have been really enjoying it. However, I like the idea of NOT having to tie a double uni knot!

Trilene xt 15lb or yo zuri 12# is absolutely awesome for me. I don't use braid for spinnerbaits just cause it's a confidence thing. But if I were do id probably use 30# 832

Why?

I hate the no stretch.

I started using 15lb mean green this year with spinnerbaits and really like it. Stays limp, casts nice, strong, low stretch.

I use whatever 17 lb test line that is on January fishing tackle close outs at Walmart with these exceptions.   I've had enough bad experiences with Big Game over the years that I won't use that any more and the same goes for P Line.

Last year it was 17 lb Suffix Siege and in prior years it has been Spider Wire Super Mono and Stren Dura-tuf and if I ever find any more Berkley Iron Silk, I thought that was great spinnerbait/squarebill line.
