Ms Slammer Color???

I have a white body with a like green stall slammer. But I really haven't had to much success with the color. I'm in northern Wisconsin, lots of really dark lakes but also a lot of almost really clear lakes. What's a good color I should get it painted?? Any ideas?

Maybe a dark perch color might be good. Black is always a solid choice in dark water.

What I did with a few of mine is catch some bluegill or perch, take photos, get garlic marker pens and color soft bodies to resemble the forage. 

 

The same would work for hard body baits with painting them.

Take your current bait and color the bottom black.  If you think about it, on a topwater bait the Bass are looking up primarily. They're going to see the underside first.  In low-light/cloudy or dark conditions, black will contrast the sky the best.  If you decide to keep it white, maybe take 5 dollars suggestions and add some green and orange striping or coloration to mimic perch colors.  Or yellow it out for walleye... you don't technically need to have a second slammer but having more than 1 is always good too.

I like the white body i bought the yellow (chartrues) replacement tails for it and i get bit a lot in stained water also have black with a yellow replacement tail also and both produce equally for me with the slight edge to the black as it just has that it factor i can make it dance.

Just fish it. It will get bit as is.

I have a light rainbow... beat to heck... still catches fish.
