Chris186 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I really didn't like what he did at the end there. Kind of reminded me of Ike for a minute Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted February 2, 2014 Super User Posted February 2, 2014 It's clearly KVD's to lose but the finals will be on a new lake so who knows. Ehler, Martens and Hackney all looked very strong too. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 8, 2014 Super User Posted February 8, 2014 It's almost time. Summit Cup Two-Hour Final Airs Today According to MLF - todays show is a "one-time" only airing of 2 original hours for the championship. Should be entertaining. A-Jay Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted February 8, 2014 Super User Posted February 8, 2014 kvd just killing it.... 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 8, 2014 Super User Posted February 8, 2014 That was a Very Dominant, Impressive and Record Setting Championship Performance. A-Jay Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 8, 2014 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 8, 2014 I just finished watching it. Although it was impressive and fun to watch, nothing was ever explained what he was doing different than the rest, other than running around alot in search of new schools of fish. Seems way too simple of an explanation for the other pros to miss. 1 Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I just bought the MLF Extended Cast online for 29 bucks! Excellent, exciting fishing! Quote
SMB101 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 KVD just dominated all the way. Enjoy watching him always. They had mentioned his moving around and learning key spots that could be winners when the moment was right. And the sun did come out and thats all she wrote. Done Noticed the spinnerbait size and took a second or two before he would start burning it. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted February 9, 2014 Super User Posted February 9, 2014 He must have had a good batch of his lucky cookies from the wife. Awesome action, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I was hoping Ehler would have gone neck and neck with him. Oh well.KVD is a fishing machine! Quote
gripnrip Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The "lessons" show airs next Sunday. Maybe KVD will be more specific. 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 9, 2014 Super User Posted February 9, 2014 The "lessons" show airs next Sunday. Maybe KVD will be more specific. Looking forward to it. The show / info I'm most interested in is the day he was burning a square bill and hammering Mutant smallies. I live and fish up in N. MI and that's a new one on me . . . . btw - those lakes are going to get POUNDED this year. A-Jay Quote
Megastink Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I just finished watching it. Although it was impressive and fun to watch, nothing was ever explained what he was doing different than the rest, other than running around alot in search of new schools of fish. Seems way too simple of an explanation for the other pros to miss. One thing that was OBVIOUS to me was that he was fishing all of his baits much, much faster than anyone else was. He was RIPPING that Jerkbait, and really burning that crankbait and spinnerbait. With that clear water and targeting smallmouth, it all makes sense. Quote
Smokinal Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 btw - those lakes are going to get POUNDED this year. A-Jay Yup, as cool as it seems it would be to have a camera crew and tv on our home waters, it would just ruin the place for a full season at least. When Field and Stream did an article on Cobbosseecontee Lake here in Maine, it became a vacation destination for everyone. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 10, 2014 Super User Posted February 10, 2014 I can't wait for the Major League lesson from this show. As dominant as KVD was I wonder if they will have him talk about more than one subject. LOL. Quote
Super User AK-Jax86 Posted February 10, 2014 Super User Posted February 10, 2014 Just finished watching if on the DVR. I made it a point to stay off Facebook and this thread so it would be a "surprise" (that was very sarcastic it was kind of obvious who was going to win when the show just started) KVD the G.O.A.T He is the best man! I was rooting for Hackney he made his run then KVD broke out and set records lol, guy is the Jordan of fishing breaking his own records. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I purchased the year pass for the Extended Cast of all the Episodes (for all the seasons). The fisherman explain a lot more in those episodes (i.e., parts that were edited out for the TV version). Maybe there will be a little more explanation in the Extended Cast of the Championship Round when the have it on-line. As far as what aired, according to Marty Stone, KVD would just move spot to spot and make a handful of casts at each. What gets me is that these guys know how KVD fishes, yet there is no one that tries to duplicate his style. His whole premise is reaction strikes, but there are just not many fisherman (even ones I fish with, including myself) that do this. I am the first to slow it down with a drop shot or some other finesse technique as opposed to sticking with exploring various reaction-strike lure alternatives. Quote
Bassintheweeds Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yup, as cool as it seems it would be to have a camera crew and tv on our home waters, it would just ruin the place for a full season at least. When Field and Stream did an article on Cobbosseecontee Lake here in Maine, it became a vacation destination for everyone. Too bad Cobbe is awful... Im not sure if I like that the lakes are all smallies. I really did enjoy the visual fishing on chataqua and istokpoga. Just makes for better TV in my opinion. But I hate the spoilers they have on the main page of the website... ruined more than one show for me. I think that its a very hard thing to emulate someones style of fishing and be truly sucessful with it. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 They have that 29 dollar extended cast thing online. You can watch all the videos which are pretty long. I think it is well worth it. I'm going back and watching the 2012 cup till I make it to the current one. It's cool cause its a yearly pass you can go back to whatever episodes you like and watch them again! Quote
Bassintheweeds Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Finals got put on extended cast today. Quote
